[VIDEOGRAPHY] Must have for GH4 kit! Great O.I.S.!!!

Michael B., Amazon

  • Summary: Is it possible to fit such a great piece of glass into a small form factor? Yes. Great colors, great sharpness. As someone who made the switch from EOS to LUMIX, WOW. I. LOVE. MEGA O.I.S. Really, image stabilization is a BEAUTIFUL thing. If this lens was a fine wine, it would match perfectly with the GH4.

Great Lens

Blue J, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Having a low f-stop helps with bokeh effects and low light shooting. The lens is small, light and compact. Panasonic touches their lenses with a blue steel overcoat and red lettering, creating a beautiful product. I use the lens when I need auto fucusing for quicker shots (both photographs and video). Keeping the 2.8 f stop through the zoom is bonus. Other wise I use a prime lens if there is time to set up shots.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction

Amazing Video

Cale the Graphic Designer, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: This lens is tack sharp and has just amazing continuous auto focus that makes my video work much easier. It's also the best built micro 4/3 lens I've got my hands on to date which is certainly justified by the price tag. Thing is built like a tank. That said for a micro 4/3 lens it's "heavy" just not heavy enough to list it as a con.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction

Great walk around lens

Al in Philly, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I've been using this lens for about 18 months now and it never fails to impress. It's quick focusing, feels good, and offers nice sharp contrast. The lens' only drawback is that a 12mm and f/2.8 you do get some chromatic aberrations, as one might expect, but they are easily correctable in Photoshop. Unless I'm just doing street or indoor shooting w/o flash it's a lens which I take with me everywhere.
  • Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Sharp

Great lens

Ryan, B&H Photo
1 January 2015
  • Excerpt: Super quick to focus and very sharp. This is a truly great lens. If you're ued to a 24-105 or a kit zoom then you might find yourself wishing it had a bit more reach, but it's a great standard zoom in a fantastically small and light package. And the stabilization is crucial for video and this is one of only two fast standard zooms that I know of with such a feature. Macro distance is impressive too.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction

Great lens for the GH4

Austin A, B&H Photo
30 December 2014
  • Excerpt: I'm using this lens for all things video and find it to be crisp on the GH4. The image stabilization works well and the zoom range is enough to complete the camera as a kit package for interviews and b-roll. It does not have the best low light, focusing or noise, but accompany it with an A7S and you will be dugdale certified ready to go!
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Poor in Low Light

Best go-to lens for GH4

Simon, B&H Photo
15 December 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this lens at the same time I bought the GH4 and I don't regret it. It's fast, it's precise and it produces amazing quality images. Wonderful equivalent to 24-70mm in the 35mm world. Already getting used to it more than to my Canon lenses.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Strong Construction
