Great all-around lens for Micro 4/3

Vadim, B&H Photo
10 October 2014
  • Excerpt: This lens is a 24-70mm focal length equivalent for Micro 4/3 format, which is a good all-around range for most uses. I have been using it on my Panasonic GH4, and optically it's very sharp, even at f/2.8. It is also extremely lightweight and small, especially when compared to full-frame lenses. I am using it primarily for video. I mainly purchased this lens for the OIS feature, which works well for handheld shots.
  • Cons: Long focus throw

  • Excerpt: I'm using this with my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and am really enjoying it! The images are a little soft but nothing that can't be fixed in post.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Lightweight, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Slow Focus

Japanese Model

Ross L. Peebles "rlpeeb", Amazon
6 April 2014
  • Summary: Be aware that this lens is mailed directly from Japan, thus is will not be guaranteed by Panasonic America. And that is the reason it is so much cheaper than other listings of this model. I assumed this lens is new and I have nothing that makes me believe otherwise, other than it did not come in a box, it did not come with a warranty card or any other paperwork. Also the cap on the lens connection side was missing, replaced with the cap for the camera connection.

A must have lens for MFT

Lumix Fan, B&H Photo
10 March 2014
  • Excerpt: Great stabilization for video. I did several events and the lens performed wonderfully with the GH3. Carefully with group performances and AFF autofocus mode , the lens can hunt and spoil some footage.
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight

Great addition to current stable of micro four thirds lenses.

i4foto-us, Ebay
4 February 2014
  • Summary: I will be putting this lens through it's paces this weekend during a portrait shoot. Test photos and video so far are quite pleasing. Not as sharp wide open as I would have expected for a lens in this price range but still quite satisfied nonetheless.

A BMPCC user review

Ari Schaeffer, Amazon
29 January 2014
  • Summary: I can't speak to other m43 systems since I'm exclusively using this on a black magic pocket cinema camera. To start, as of firmware 1.5.1 this is one of the only lenses with OIS that will work with the bmpcc. I consider myself a rather steady shooter, but the weight tight crop and form factor of the pocket cam makes handheld shooting very very difficult.

Hell Yeah

andrew Molle, Amazon
9 January 2014
  • Summary: Works GREAT for video. Optical quality obviously isn't as good as using a prime and there's room for improvement with the image, but with that being said the I.S. is great, and I think it's the best zoom lens in this range for video. I've filmed some really great pieces with this and really enjoy the 2.8, nice bokeh.
