sold it

Sago 101, Adorama
27 August 2013
  • Excerpt: After a lot of soul searching - I realised the most impressive part of the lens was the way it looked on a tiny camera body - basically its "look at me - look at me" value- so I sold it.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy, Lens Creep, Poor in Low Light

Happy with this lens

Sago 101, Adorama
4 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I bought this lens to give me added flexibility. I have taken it on a holiday to Tasmania where the light is like no other I have seen - and it performed beautifully. The lens doesn't come out a lot but when it does it does what is needed.

Long Range Lens

Big G, Adorama
4 September 2011
  • Excerpt: Lens is used with Olympus EPL-1 for sports and bird photography. It is quite long, relatively heavy, & at least the size of Nikkor 55-200. The hood makes it even longer but is absolutely necessary to prevent flare at the longest focal lengths.
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Subject to flare wo hood

Great value/quality lens for the M43rd

Jeff, B&H Photo
14 April 2011
  • Excerpt: This lens is a great value. The built quality is good plus it has O.I.S. I have the Olympus EP-2, which has IBIS, but I prefer using the O.I.S. AF is acceptable in good lighting but a bit slow in low lights. The image quality is very good for it's price.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, OIS, Price, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Poor in Low Light, Slow Focus

Good for my needs

Scott, B&H Photo
4 April 2011
  • Excerpt: Got this to go with my G2, and it balances nicely with the body. Though a good amount heavier than the 14-42 kit lens, it is not very heavy at all, especially for the 400mm equivalent focal length.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
