A safe starter option

  • Excerpt: Using this on a Panasonic Lumix GH4 for video it is an adequate lens. It really suffers in low light and is limited in the field due to the manual focus and zoom. If you understand this comming in howerver, this is a perfectly acceptable lens it lets you do nice studio work while capturing a real powerful image.
  • Pros: Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor in Low Light

  • Summary: this lens is much more better than 14-42. I use it with G-1 and firmware 1.4, because 1.0 is not so sharp. Inspite of sensor chip being only half so big as APS-C chip, pictures are very charp.an excellent set lens.
  • Pros: very sharp at f 5,6-8,very nice bokeh, excellent colors
  • Cons: plastic buidt

Consistently very good

  • Excerpt: I use this on my OMD EM5. The colors and sharpness are reliably good. Autofocus is fine. I use this one for landscapes and walk around shots. I reach for it a lot, and I never thought I would because I've had similar midrange zooms (Canon 24-105) that were boring. The 14mm-45mm f/3.5-5.6 is a trusty lens. I'll use it until I wear it out.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Image quality, Lightweight

Best Standard Micro 4/3 Zoom

9 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I can hardly fault this lens. Its sharp except in the very corners where there is a hint of softness wide open. It focuses fast and accurately, the colours are pleasant, CA is there but is a small fraction of what you would expect to see, the micro-contrast is excellent and there macro contrast has a good balance. For the price point, this lens represents excellent value for money. Compared to the Olympus 14-42 11 R which I owned briefly, there is no comparison.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

Good Lens, Good Value

  • Excerpt: This lens seems to be a good value and it is getting me pretty clean images most of the time. I like the stabilization... I am still learning to use my camera and just getting to know the lens. While I would like to have the 12-35 GX Vario lens, this costs a fraction of the price with a similar range and probably 85-90% of the quality.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

  • Excerpt: For a moderately-priced lens, this one works quite well. Images are sharp and clear. No evidence of "Shutter Shock." I use it with my Panasonic GH4 camera.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
