Excerpt: I can hardly fault this lens. Its sharp except in the very corners where there is a hint of softness wide open. It focuses fast and accurately, the colours are pleasant, CA is there but is a small fraction of what you would expect to see, the micro-contrast is excellent and there macro contrast has a good balance. For the price point, this lens represents excellent value for money. Compared to the Olympus 14-42 11 R which I owned briefly, there is no comparison.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: This lens seems to be a good value and it is getting me pretty clean images most of the time. I like the stabilization... I am still learning to use my camera and just getting to know the lens. While I would like to have the 12-35 GX Vario lens, this costs a fraction of the price with a similar range and probably 85-90% of the quality.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: The lens is amazing don't get me wrong but I am slightly disappointed by the size of it. It's not a huge deal but it just makes your camera look less professional and if you have bigger hands the focus ring may be hard to use.
Excerpt: This lens is FAR superior to the 14-42mm "kit" lens now supplied with Panasonic Lumix cameras. I was giving my Grandson my Lumix GX1 to start him off and needed a lens for it. I tried an very clean Lumix 14-42mm but the zoom action was so sticky & jerky it was almost unusable even for stills.

On my own cameras I replaced the 14-42 I had with one of these Lumix 14-45mm and those (being metal construction rather than plastic) are much smoother.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable, Smooth Zoom Action
Excerpt: While both this (14-45) and the 14-42 were first issued as kit lenses and neither would be considered prime, recall that the only "kit" this lens was ever on was an original G. It is, in my opinion, a far superior zoom for this range and my GX7 loves it. BTW, I kinda' like it as well.
Excerpt: I have been using this lens on my black magic pocket camera for travel. For it's price it is brilliant. It's range of zoom makes it quite versatile and the OIS does a good job of removing small shakes during hand held recording. A pixel watching fanatic will notice some quality artifacts but, again, for the price it is produces excellent picture quality.
