Excerpt: This is a great choice for an everyday walking around lens. Better build and image quality than the kit lens, it's fast enough for most situations. Not a go to lens for low light, but at 3.5/5.6 you have to expect that.
Excerpt: I have a number of Olympus and Panasonic prime lenses, yet this is the lens I use the most. While the 14-42 kit lens that came on my G5 is stiff and hard to zoom, this lens is smooth zooming and a lot sharper. Since upgrading to a GX7 I am still getting excellent results with this lens.

Panasonic 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH MEGA OIS LUMIX G VARIO review by joe88

Summary: this lens is much more better than 14-42. I use it with G-1 and firmware 1.4, because 1.0 is not so sharp. Inspite of sensor chip being only half so big as APS-C chip, pictures are very charp.an excellent set lens.
Pros: very sharp at f 5,6-8,very nice bokeh, excellent colors
