Excerpt: I haven't had this lens very long yet, but I've used it to take photos of dogs playing in the backyard and a football game and it did well at both of those tasks. I plan to use it to take pictures of birds and other wildlife when I get the chance. I will say that the lens has been at least as good as I hoped. The pictures have been sharp and the focus speed has been pretty good. 600mm does require good technique even with the OIS, but the OIS seems pretty helpful.
Excerpt: Great telephoto zoom lens for M34, maybe one of the best for this format. There are a lot of complaints about softness at 300mm, but is essential to treat this lens like a 600mm on a full frame sensor. If NEEDS a tripod for best results. It also helps to avoid 300mm at the widest aperture. Better results come by shooting at something like 260-280mm and stopping the aperture 1-2 stops. The lens has manageable limitations. It is a remarkable value for the price.
Summary: what to say,its a very good lense works great does what it should gives very sharp pictures i have had no problems and would buy this again.I can take a very good picture of an island and the building on it which is about 2 -3 miles away if the weather cooperates that is. The 4 on value is me or the dollar not worth much.
Excerpt: I am a nature and wildlife photographer who just purchased a GH4, and I am on an assignment to shoot 4K video. This lens is amazing. I can capture anything and every creature using this lens. It's sharp and clear and has great contrast.
Excerpt: I picked up this lens so that I can shoot pictures of my son while he plays soccer. I also got this because I lacked a native micro 4/3 telephoto zoom lens. I had a Nikon 70-300mm lens that I adapted to m4/3 but I found it difficult to focus accurately and it also had a lot of chromatic aberration which motivated me to get a native m4/3 lens.
Summary: This lens is amazing for slow moving wildlife photography and with some patience and good lighting I have success at faster targets. I have been very pleased with the sharpness and the autofocus speed and capabilities on the lens. It is big, it isn't the brightest lens, and it has a plastic extending sleeve, and yes, it gets pretty long, but even with these possible cons, the lens is amazing. It takes great pictures and exploiting the m4/3 crop gives you amazing reach.
Excerpt: Have this lens only for a week, and highly recommend it - can't beat it for the price. On the long end is sharp (contrary to what others say), but focus can be a little slow in low light. Well designed and OIS works very well.
Excerpt: I am a casual photographer who just switched to a Panasonic micro Four Thirds system and wanted a long distance lens for vacation shots. This lens is just right. Other reviews mentioned a grating feeling when focusing, but I have not found that to be true. I'm looking forward to having it for our trip to Hawaii this year.
