My new lens!

  • Excerpt: My new Panasonic Lumix 100-300 lens has arrived, and I have tried it out from my balconny overlooking the Boston harbour. I love it, and am looking forward to go with a bus through Portugal and Spain in May! As usual it is a pleasure to shop from B&H. My stuff always arrives before I expect it too!

Brings the birds in close

Richie, B&H Photo
27 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I use this lens for birding. The photos are from a nature preserve near Pawleys Island, SC. It is serious in length and weight. But the same lens in a Canon L series would be over 10k in price.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use
  • Cons: Bulky

600MM!

DynaSport, B&H Photo
1 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I haven't had this lens very long yet, but I've used it to take photos of dogs playing in the backyard and a football game and it did well at both of those tasks. I plan to use it to take pictures of birds and other wildlife when I get the chance. I will say that the lens has been at least as good as I hoped. The pictures have been sharp and the focus speed has been pretty good. 600mm does require good technique even with the OIS, but the OIS seems pretty helpful.

Great lens if used properly

  • Excerpt: Great telephoto zoom lens for M34, maybe one of the best for this format. There are a lot of complaints about softness at 300mm, but is essential to treat this lens like a 600mm on a full frame sensor. If NEEDS a tripod for best results. It also helps to avoid 300mm at the widest aperture. Better results come by shooting at something like 260-280mm and stopping the aperture 1-2 stops. The lens has manageable limitations. It is a remarkable value for the price.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Excellent micro 4/3 telephoto zoom lens

Makoto, B&H Photo
11 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I picked up this lens so that I can shoot pictures of my son while he plays soccer. I also got this because I lacked a native micro 4/3 telephoto zoom lens. I had a Nikon 70-300mm lens that I adapted to m4/3 but I found it difficult to focus accurately and it also had a lot of chromatic aberration which motivated me to get a native m4/3 lens.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Bulky
