Excellent micro 4/3 telephoto zoom lens

Makoto, B&H Photo
11 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I picked up this lens so that I can shoot pictures of my son while he plays soccer. I also got this because I lacked a native micro 4/3 telephoto zoom lens. I had a Nikon 70-300mm lens that I adapted to m4/3 but I found it difficult to focus accurately and it also had a lot of chromatic aberration which motivated me to get a native m4/3 lens.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: Bulky

Nice lens!

  • Excerpt: Have this lens only for a week, and highly recommend it - can't beat it for the price. On the long end is sharp (contrary to what others say), but focus can be a little slow in low light. Well designed and OIS works very well.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

Does what I want at a great price

17 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I am a casual photographer who just switched to a Panasonic micro Four Thirds system and wanted a long distance lens for vacation shots. This lens is just right. Other reviews mentioned a grating feeling when focusing, but I have not found that to be true. I'm looking forward to having it for our trip to Hawaii this year.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, GOOD PRICE

Great stabilazation

20 May 2014
  • Excerpt: I'm using it on the new GH4. It is big comparing with the other Lumix Lenses. But with 300 mm that's normal. I like the image stabilization. Even at 300 it does a great job. Colors come out good. Sharpness is good. It is not your everyday lens. You cant take family photos with it. It is bulky and not practical for everyday use. But if you have the standard lenses in your bag and have a need for a 300mm (600mm)lens, this is a great choice.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Stabilization
  • Cons: Bulky

Go-to lens for nature shots

LMN, B&H Photo
7 May 2014
  • Excerpt: With a focal length from 200 to 600 mm (35mm terms) this lens has a long reach. I use it for nature shots of animals, birds, flowers, etc. It is not a small lens, but not very large either and when supported with the left hand, it is very manageable on a M4/3 body.

Works For Me

Spudman, Amazon
2 May 2014
  • Summary: Wanting more zoom than my Panasonic 200mm gave me, I bought this Lumix 100-300mm lens. I haven't been disappointed with the clarity of the pictures taken with this lens. At full length, a tripod or steadying fence would be advisable, but I have taken many good pictures at 300mm hand held. Sometimes turning the lens to extend it feels a little stiff, but it's certainly not a problem.

Telephoto Lens with decent performance

AP, Amazon
17 April 2014
  • Summary: Length:: 0:21 Mins Just started to use this telephoto lens and I am very pleased with it. For its long reach it is reasonably compact and not too heavy. It produces good sharp image, specially at the range of 250mm. I am using it on my GX7 and the picture quality is very good. The quality of a image it produces is comparable to Canon 100-400L. This is an excellent value in MFT telephoto lens system.

SHARP LENSE!

Marky Mark, Adorama
4 March 2014
  • Excerpt: I have a Lumix Panasonic GH2 and I was using a Canon 80-200mm with an FD adapter because I could not afford the panasonic 100-300mm. I also switch back and forth between my 14-42mm which is made by Panasonic and 55mm Canon lense, and you can definitely tell the difference between the two. This made the decision to buy the 100-300 super easy and the results have been great!
