Reviews and Problems with Panasonic Lumix G 12.5mm F12

Lousy effect, photo only, no video
3 October 2012
Summary: I'm clearly an idiot, because I had assumed that at the very least, this lens would support video - sadly it doesn't... You get really bad 3D photos only. The 3D effect is so bad, but without 3D glasses, you can barely notice any difference with a regular photo. Fun to have in your bag (I guess), but hardly a lens that'll be used on a regular basis.
Summary: The reviews that I'd read about this lens before it was so heavily discounted were discouraging. The heavy discount tells its own story. I bought because of the discount - an opportunity for a bit of fun. The lenses are close together so a big 3D effect is impossible - fair enough. But, so far, I'm disappointed in the image quality. Not recommended.
Mediocre 3-D Effect--The 2 Stereo Lenses are Too Close

Summary: I used this lens with a Panasonic DMC-GH2 body (an awesome camera), an ASUS full 3-D laptop, and a free software 3-D image viewer by a company called 3D Media. The system all worked: the camera took MFO files, which showed in full 3D on the laptop using the MFO viewer and the laptop's Nvidia 3-D Vision and the shutter glasses. Family and friends thought it was real cool to just walk around and snap 3-D shots with ease.
Summary: This lens DOES NOT DO AS IT CLAIMS to do. It will not work with all Panasonic Lumix Micro G systems. I have recently bought it for my wife's G10 and it will not work. We have been in touch with Panasonic and they have looked into it and have apologised. From what I gather it works with the G3, GH2 & G2. There may be more but these ones Panasonic have confirmed. I do not know if its any good on those cameras until I trade my wife's G10 in for a G3.
Summary: Als Start in die 3D Welt geeignet, mein Spasspreis würde aber bei 50 € in etwa liegen, kein Makro, kein Zoom ,keine Bildbearbeitung möglich, zumindest fehlt ein geeignetes Programm, wie schon beschrieben,Stilleben , Nahaufnahmen ganz o.K. ,aber das wars dann auch schon. Bildqualität sieht anders aus , bei wenig Licht nur Bildrauschen , Freunde ???.
