Summary: This lens is so tiny you can easily take it with you everywhere or add it to your normal walk around lenses. There really is no reason not to add it to your lens collection. It's so unobtrusive that it's easy to get photos of anything you want without people feeling intimidated. A great buy and a practical tool.
Highly underrated lens, but requires a pro eye for photography
23 November 2013
Summary: Only capable of great things in an experienced photographers hands. This lens was just recently discontinued and pansonic is no longer shipping them to distributors. Naturally, the price of the lens shot up 50%. I purchased 3 of these lens's over the past few years, none for more than $135. If you are paying more than $140ish for this lens, you got a bad deal and are a victim of supply and demand. The supply on this lens is very low, thus the hike in price recently.
Sharp wide open, fast AF, super small, lightweight and great price
30 October 2013
Summary: This little lens packs a punch with performance, size and price. Incredibly sharp starting at wide open and doesn't stop till about F8, due only to diffraction. Because its a wide, AF is super fast. So small and lightweight, you hardly notice its in your kit bag, let alone can be place on any pocket while walking around. Makes your M4/3rd cam super light as a bonus as well. With the price its going on Ebay, this small wonder is a no-brainer!
Summary: Love the lens and it works on my new Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera! Obviously based on all the reviews that I viewed the image quality is not up to snuff as compared to some super high dollar lenses. but for learning and getting test footage, its great!
Summary: the lens is great and super compact, i love lugging my GF5 with this lens when traveling and now I have finally able to leave my 5d mark iii at home. the front lens element is very easily smudged with fingerprints, so I suggest get a lens hood for it to work as a lens cap.
Summary: The 28mm equivalent view is great. I love being able to take pictures indoors of large rooms and capture what's going on. As some of the reviewers have mentioned, this lens is very soft at f2.5 but performs well at f4. I think shooting at f4 and increasing the ISO makes shots turn out better, especially in lower light conditions. When it's very dimly lit inside, I try to avoid using this lens. But if you're looking for a really good Micro 4/3 landscape lens, this is it.
