A top flight lens, sharp as a tack and fast too. Leica quality images!

  • Summary: It's not an inexpensive lens, but the difference between this and say a kit lens is simply day and night! Sharpness is astonishing with excellent contrast and color rendering. The fast f/1.4 capability make this ideal for capturing a beautiful bokah when selectively focusing. This same speed also makes this a prime lens for low light photography.

  • Summary: Turns a complete amateur into a pro overnight! I thought my GF5 was a very good camera before this lens, but now the difference is like day and night. I couldn't be any happier, it pays to buy the best, I am ordering a new GX-7 tonight!

A good walking-around lens

Tomnap, Adorama
25 March 2014
  • Excerpt: This is an excellent lens for general street images. It focuses quickly and has a good grip for manual focusing as well. It moves from afternoon to night shooting thanks to the wide aperture. I probably will keep this on the Pen or G2 most of the time.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight
  • Cons: "over The Top" Pricewise

  • Excerpt: I have had it less than a month but can already tell I'll be using it more than any other lens I own. Great in lower light situations. Build & optics are great AF is fast and the focus ring is much smoother than the kit lens I have.

One of my favorite lenses

  • Excerpt: I love fast lenses. This one is sharp and focuses fast and precise. I usually use a central focus point to focus precisely and then compose. Professional looking pictures.

Very sharp lens wide open

PTM, Adorama
12 November 2013
  • Excerpt: This lens is very sharp even wide open. I don't use charts to judge the sharpness of a lens so I'm not sure how this lens fares in that kind of test. But when I take pictures of people, I realize that I can count every wrinkle on my subjects' faces. Some of my subjects (mom) don't like this lens because it shows too many wrinkles. There is nothing I don't like about this lens.
  • Pros: Fast, Sharp

  • Summary: A perfect Lens for taking pictures at home in winter when there is not enough light and when you intend to get rid of your flash. That's why I bought one and I don't regret this purchase.
