WARNING: Not for Micro 4/3 cameras
28 January 2014
Excerpt: I am rating on my experience with Adorama. As a novice MFT owner, I was unaware of the difference between 4/3 and MFT. No explicit warning was provided. The sad result was running up bill for shipping, for the return and for overnight for a replacement lens.
Excerpt: The zooming is sticky and grabs, especially when doing it slowly trying to frame a photo. Otherwise it is compact, light and sharp. I checked online and this appears to be an occasional known problem with this lens.
Summary: This little thing is a BIG DEVIL!! 100% Amazing, but I don't gonna a buy the Lens Hood after paying more than 600 grands for this lens. Bad business for Olympus & I hope you don't buy it either! Saludos, Allan. 14-Sept-2013: After two years of ocassionaly use, I received this message in the LCD, "Check the statuta of the lenses" or "compruebe el estado de objetivo" lense only focus on 9mm to 14mm, from 14mm to 18mm forget it.
Excerpt: This Olympus lens does not autofocus on my (or my friend's) Panasonic G2 camera. I've sent it twice to Olympus for "service". I have been told by Olympus service that the lens autofocuses on an Olympus camera, and that an Olympus lens can be guaranteed to work only on an Olympus camera. I've checked with both Olympus and Panasonic. Neither service department will service a lens/camera combination made by different manufacturers. What have I learned?
