  • Excerpt: Very sharp lens as nearly everyone reports. Coupling with EX-25 extension tube increases versatility. Excellent addition to my 4/3 lens collection.

optically great...once focused

  • Excerpt: While I gave this lens a 4-star rating, this probably would not be everyone's rating because there are definitely two sides to this lens's personality on the OM-D on which I'm using it (with adapter).
  • Pros: Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Blurry Focus, Slow Focus

  • Summary: I love photographing flowers, small creatures and technical things in detail. I read many rave reviews about this lens and I haven't been disappointed by its optical performance. The pictures from it are very sharp and clean.

Good quality but slow

  • Summary: I use this lens with my Olympus PEN EPL-1. It gives godd picture quality but focusing is irrustrating especially when working macro. Maybe it is because of my body but it is my experience till now, slow focusing, noisy but good quality; 2.0 is great. Regards.

  • Excerpt: Everything good you read about this lens is true. It is a 5-star lens except for the slow auto-focus especially in low light. I don't know about lens design or autofocus algorithms, but I do know my 12-60mm and 25mm 4/3 lenses focus FAST. If the 50mm focused as fast I would rate it 5 1/2 stars.

  • Excerpt: I have used the lens for macro, portraits and a bit of general use where I needed a short tele. Resolution and contrast is excellent even wide open at f2. Autofocus is accurate and fast. I have no idea about long term reliability and durability as the lens hasn't been "knocked around".
