Summary: Let me preface this by saying I bought mine used and not from Amazon.com. With that out of the way, the lens I bought was in nearly-new condition and I've found it to be a perfect walk-around lens for my Olympus 4/3 DSLR. The lens is NOT fast and does require a good bit of light, but it is plenty sharp enough (especially so if you close up the aperture a little bit) and I have no problems recommending this lens to any owner of a similar Oly DSLR system.
Summary: This is an excellent all around/travel lens. It has fat dimensions but well worth a bit of bulkiness for what it can do. With f/3.5-6.3 and 18-180mm, it's the only lens I need in 85% of my photography. I received this overnight without even requesting overnight shipping, just the regular prime 2 day. The packaging was good, large enough with cushion to ensure padding of the inner box. I've taken a few pictures with it and all is working well. Beautiful results.
Excerpt: I purchased this lens as a last minute fix for a one lens solution. I was shooting my very first wedding (family member) and I wanted a better lens than the two that came with my e520. This being my first big camera lens buy, I was really nervous. Some of the reviews said the shutter speed was really slow. In the end, the shutter speed felt right with the e520. I got some gorgeous pictures with bright, vibrant colors. If you need a relatively cheap lens, I say go for it!
Summary: First and foremost, this lens is a part of the SG range of Zuiko lenses. There are also HG lenses, of which I own three (11-22, 50 Macro and 50-200) and there are also SHG lenses, of which I own four (7-14, 14-35, 35-100 and 150). A comparison with these higher grade with more refined optics and build would be unfair. Within its class, I find this lens to perform quite well, with the added benefit of the 10X telephoto range.
