Olympus 18-180 mm zoom lens
25 February 2014
Excerpt: I traded my 14-42 mm and 40-150 mm lenses for this lens. I plan to use it for an all round travel lens. First thing to note is that you will need a 4/3 adapter to use this lens on a on a micro 4/3 camera such as my E-PL1.
Summary: Very useful range for a very compact lens. Very sharp images for a zoom. I adapted this lens to my OMD EM-5 and really like it. for the focal length of 36-360mm. I find a lot of times 100mm isn't enough but I don't need 400mm so this lens fits a common use.
Summary: telephoto shooting catches edge of lens hood in photos quite a bit of grain when shooting in smaller aperatures even when have low ISO if you like macro, don't even think this lens can get you that a good combo of the 14-42 and 40-150 lenses if you get tired of switching them on the camera body...
Excerpt: 18-180 lens is a great lens. Good and durable. A great walk around lens, I did not find it heavy, very managable.
I was hoping it would be a great lens for inside action shots. Unfortunately not fast enough lens to capture indoor action shots.
Excerpt: This lens is a great overall lens. 18mm for those landscape shots and easily zooms up to 180mm for close ups. Very nice for traveling when your short on cargo space. A little pricey, but compared to other lenses on this category of lenses, it's well worth the price.
Summary: I bought the 2-lens e-500 camera kit well over a year ago, but felt the 40-150mm lens that came with it was not as sharp as it could be. Because I am trying to build a photography business, I decided recently to replace the 40-150 lens I had.
