Light and thin (with downsides)

Jony760 "Jon", Amazon

  • Summary: Very soft at wide open, sharpens very slightly when stopped down. I'm not a fan of "electronic" manual focus. I discovered that the focus ring actually turns endlessly, of course not that much if you have achieved focus, but it does go on in circles without ever stopping. That makes manual focusing too artificial to feel. Great walk around though, light and small although not as "pancaky" as the Pentax DA 40mm f2.8.

Compact & OK

Cashew, Amazon
9 February 2010
  • Summary: Bought Summer 09 & run this on an E420 for a compact walkabout. It's ok, moderately sharp and good for candid snaps open wide. No better combination of price/portability I could identify really on an SLR at the time. Still probably better practically then Pen/GF1 when current prices considered. 2.8 was as good as it gets, but would love something little faster (or use it on a body with stabiliser for extra stop or 2?

Convenient

Mr. Javier Diez "J Diez", Amazon
20 October 2009
  • Summary: This lens makes my E-620 almost a (bulky) compact camera, easier to carry around on its own, so this have become my default lens. Being standard means that you can take all kind of conventional pictures, but it's not the ideal choice for other more specific types of photography. In a word, it's a good all-rounder, very handy, but nothing special. No wows except for the size. In my opinion, the price is slightly expensive for being f2.8. The built quality is fine.

  • Excerpt: pagato 244euro su deshop.it (ottimo sito per acquisti in ambiente four thirds system).
