Summary: I purchased this lens at a discounted refurbished price, so based on that, I will give it a rating of maybe 3.5 stars. If I paid the full price for a new one, I would be less happy. The lens is handy if you're traveling and you want something lightweight with a 10X zoom, and you don't mind image quality not much better than a good point and shoot. In good light, stopped down to about f 5.6 on the wide end, and f 7-8 on the telephoto end, it is pretty decent.
Summary: Comments: 3 Latest Apparently the cleaning and firmware update did the trick. I can happily say this lens now meets my expectations as a decent walkaround lens. Good for vacations and that sort of thing where you are not looking for super sharp images. I would recommend this lens for folks looking for a 10+X zoom for non-critical applications. It seems to perform as described in some of the notable internet review sites such as DPReview.
Cheaply made, but amazing wide to telephoto range.

Summary: When I purchased my Olympus EP-3 from Amazon, at the same time I also ordered this Olympus 14 - 150mm lens for it. When I pulled it out of the box, I was stunned. I looked it over to see if I could find the Playskool or Mattel logo on it. No, it said Olympus, even though it felt and looked like a toy. This was a very light, very cheaply made lens and I was shocked.
Excerpt: Dark lens (F4.0-5.6), constructed out of plastic, and the widest angle on it is a so-so 28mm equivalent. I guess if you really want a "super" zoom lens for your MFT camera, it's either this one or the 14-140mm Panny zoom, there is nothing else out there, really.
Excerpt: I purchased this to replace a broken lens on my E-510 series camera. It was advertised to fit, but is the wrong part. Otherwise, the lens is light, versatile and seemed to be new, even though it was not 'new' condition.
Excerpt: It is small and light. I can carry it every day to take pictures when necessary. It covers a wide range of focal length. It is convenient for everyday photography. It will be better if the aperture is bigger.
Summary: One of the various micro4/3 (MFT) lenses to address the growing MFT market. Physically the lens is very small (pictures would lead one to believe it's a full sized lens). Zoom focal length is usefull at 14mm - 42mm. Speed is not so quick, f3.5 on the wide end and f5.6 on the long side. Optically is reasonable though it's plastic construction requires ginger handling. The front thread is only 37mm, quite small and more difficult to adapt to larger filters.
