  • Excerpt: I bought this as a way to try out a new prime lens, buying it used. The lens arrived quickly after ordering it. (Adorama is one of the best online dealers I've dealt with). The lens itself is in mint condition, works like it is brand new.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

Excellent lens

Jray66, Adorama

  • Excerpt: I just got this lens. Work well very clear pictures. I had read that it searches when focusing. Makes-Agrinding noise. It did that for me. This seemed to occur when the object is dark or with no clearly define edges. I always have used single point focusing. I tried multipoint focusing . The focusing was then extremely fast and appears to be accurate. And with out searching. I hope this holds up. Also tried five point pattern.

Astounding Close-ups; Perfect Portraits

Edsel Adams, B&H Photo
17 October 2013
  • Excerpt: If you have a strong interest in close-up photography, and you like to shoot portraits, then this is a must-have lens for the Olympus E-System....I cannot recommend it highly enough. With one caveat, as detailed below. I have been shooting close-ups for more than 35 years. My camera and lens of choice years ago was a Canon A-1 and the legendary Vivitar Series 1 90mm ƒ/2.5 Macro.
  • Pros: Good Price, Great Contrast and Color, Nice Bokeh, Sharp, Splash And Dust Resistant
  • Cons: A bit noisy, Infinity To Macro Is Slow

My new favorite lens!

Amazon Customer, Amazon
15 May 2013
  • Summary: I have to agree with other reviewers: It is really the most perfect lens. I can't add anything more than what the other positive reviewers have stated. I have an Olympus E-410 and used to use my 12-60mm 1:2.8-4 as my versatile all the time lens. But I have to say that this is now my favorite lens. I don't find the focus too slow. It's a good, solid lens, well made and holds up great. I will try to add some photos as well.

Portraits made simple!

Shutterbug Dad, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: Rarely review anything, but so happy with lens I have to!I am far from a "prosumer" but this lens breathed new life into our old Oly e410! New baby was the excuse for purchase and it is worth every penny for the photographs we have been able to take. With moderate natural light you will be amazed at the portraits you can take. I jokingly call it my "Senior Photo" lens since it is easy to get studio looking photos.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Strong Construction

Ignore the Bad Reviews!

McFern, B&H Photo
15 March 2013
  • Excerpt: I have been a long time user of Olympus digital cameras, but I have just purchased this lens. Why, well its obvious that the "true" Olympus SLRs are not long for this world, so did I want to tie up that much cash on a lens that would be less than optimal to switch over to Micro 4/3 or just completely obsolete? Well I decided to and am very ashamed for waiting so long. Here's why. This is an all around lens being a compromise of middle tele, macro, and portrait lenses.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
