Excerpt: Using this lens for products shots and portraits. Some of the reviews indicated slow or inaccurate focus -- I have not experienced that. Very happy with focus performance and image quality. The macro ability is a fun and useful bonus. It seems a bit pricey, relatively-speaking, but -- at the end of the day -- I'm very glad I spent the money and added it to my toolkit.
Excerpt: This lens would be easily 5 stars with a different focusing system. I'm a bit surprised Olympus would use a focusing system like this on such a high quality optical instrument. I like to shoot insects, flowers and still life. I have some very good results both hand held and with a tripod. I highly recommend this lens, but am disappointed with the focus by wire.
Great for someone who is serious about photography

Summary: A little noisy, a little slower than the other Olympus Zuiko lenses, but it takes amazing photos. There is a bit of a learning curve with it but once you figure it out it's a heck of an amazing piece of photographic equipment.
Excerpt: My pictures are looking just as I imagined they would and this lens is the reason. I'm sure the pictures that have turned out less than satisfactory have been due to user error and not because of the lens itself. My only complaint is it's function in low light. When I researched this type of lens, it was touted as being better in low light than the kit lens. I'm finding that is not exactly the case.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: I use the 50mm F/2.0 with my Olympus Bodies (E-510, E-3 and E-5). The output is consistent and the clarity exceeds what I've been able to achieve with other Zuiko lenses. I've done a few test videos using this lens with the E-5. However, the noisy manual and autofocus is picked up by the on-board microphone. You'll need to use an external mike that will not pick up focus noise. Or, you'll just have to set focus so it will not have to change during recording.
Excerpt: I bought this lens mainly as a 50mm prime with a good F stop. The intention to use for general out and about snaps. But I decided to try a few nature macro shots and was excited by the quality. Sharp and with lovely out of focus backgrounds. I think it focuses quick enough and not worse than other auto focus products. I recommend this lens.
Pros: Consistent Output, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
