35mm AF-D f/2

sellernd70, Ebay
31 August 2010
  • Summary: This is a general photography lens. The image quality is good, but not as sharp compared to the 50mm AF f/1.8 standard lens. Since I own both Nikon D700 and Nikon D300, the 35mm AF-D can be used as a standard lens in DX-format. It's a bit expensive if buy it brand new; I guess it's f/2.0. If you can find a used one at around $250, it's a bargain. Also, look for one that has the newer Nikon front cap. Older ones could have problems with oil sticking blades.

Great FX 35

  • Summary: The only real solution for a FX 35 prime. The lack of SWM shows the age of design and the need of a replacement.

My AF Nikkor 35mm 1:2 D lens

piniongear, Ebay
4 April 2010
  • Summary: My main camera now is a Nikon D700,which is an FX sensor camera. I needed a semi-wide angle lens. The 35mm f2.0 was my choice. This lens is what many photographers chose to use on the 35mm film camera. Being just a bit wider than the standard 50mm film camera again) it has the coverage I need. Likes: The maximum aperture of f2.0 is fast enough in low light, especially on a D700. The lower price over the f1.4 version. Very lightweight.

Excellent Prime lens

dlee633, Ebay
19 October 2008
  • Summary: This lens is amazingly fast and is a great "prime" lens for the budding photographer. The autofocus doesn't work with D40 or the D60, but the manual focus is easy enough to maneuver. It's not a zoom lens, but that's fine because it helps you with your photo composition in taking pictures of what you really want. The lens works well in low light and is just overall very good.

Nikkor 35mm F2.0

thenandthereantiques, Ebay
13 October 2008
  • Summary: This little lens is truly a gem. Like the 50mm F1.8, it is supremely sharp even wide open, and stopping down it just gets better, F4 and beyond is almost macro sharp. On full frame, even wide open with vignetting control turned to normal, it is very well controlled, and by F4 is completely gone. Out of focus areas are fairly smooth, its no 58mm Rokkor-X, but it isn't ugly either. Built very solidly, with fairly decent focus ring, along with distance window.

  • Summary: Excellent Low Weight, Contrasty Night Time Shooter. You Do Not Need A Pro Zoom Lens To Get Stunning Night Time Shots, This Lens Will Produce For You. Stay Away From The Sigms 30mm f/1.4, The Nikon 35mm f/2.0 Is By Far Superior And Not To Mention Cost Less.
