Piece of JUNK

  • Excerpt: This lens is horrible. Sending it back tomorrow. Nothing in it sharp. At infinity useless. I got rid of the old 80-400 for the same reason. Shooting on a tripod with remote release at all f-stop ranges on both manual and auto focus. Simply blurry.
  • Cons: Blurry Focus

  • Excerpt: I purchased this lens and could not remove the rear lens cap. Even after using many utilities that open stuck jars to a huge plummer wrenched that removes the toughest bolts. Nikon customer care is indifferent to customer problems and thankfully i could return the lens.

  • Excerpt: i purchased the 80-400mm lens and the rear lens cap is welded on. I tried to remove it with huge plummer pliers along with other methods. I have over 12 lenses and never had this problem. I am not impressed with the quality of this Nikon lens. And it is made in Japan!!!

  • Excerpt: I purchased this lens today and the rear lens cap is welded to the lens. I could not get it off even with a huge plummer wrench. I have well over 12 nikon lenses and I am very disappointed with the quality control of this lens. And it is made in Japan, which in the past was not this poor.

  • Excerpt: I bought a 80-400 zoom lens for my Nikon and it was used , all you had to do was put it on a camera body and check it out , the auto focus didn't work, then after a big hassle to get my money refunded , you gave me only $260 trade in on a sigma 50-500 mm lens that I had paid $1000 for, you could...
