Such a difference using a Nikon lens!

Summary: Lens came as described. I have not taken many shots with it yet but those I have are incredible! There is such a quality difference in the photos I take with Nikon lenses vs. other brands. Like night and day!
Excerpt: I have put off buying this lens, because I did not see any compelling online photos which convinced me of the quality of the image. I am planning a trip soon where I would like to have a single "does it all" zoom to simplify packing equipment for my carry on.
Excerpt: Got my lens about 2 months ago. Can't say enough good things about it. I use it mostly for wildlife and birds, but have captured some awesome tiny critter images too. (Bugs, bumble bees, butterflies, etc...
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excellent Lens, especially for wildlife photography

Summary: I used this great lens on two trips recently, one on an 85' yacht photographic workshop on the Inside Passage in Alaska, and the other on a photo safari in Zambia and Botswana, Africa. I got great shots with it!
Excerpt: Very fast autofocus, the AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR delivers outstanding results every time, and brings an exciting new frontier to portrait photography. Very well built, and can easily be hand held for portrait work.
Excerpt: I bought this lens in March 2013. I have taken many images with it and have been very pleased with its sharpness, focus speed and especially its durability. The images taken with this lens can be cropped in very closely and it always retains its maximum sharpness.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: Finally decided that my 300mm f/2.8 was just too heavy for me to lug around, so traded it in (at B&H) and bought this updated 80-400mm zoom. I had the prior version of this lens [the 'D' version] years ago but gave it to my son.

Summary: Well this isn't cheap...and it's not going to be the best choice for sports photography unless you happen to be outdoors with a lot of available light, but then I bought it for the reach in doing scenics.
