Excerpt: I already have the AF-D/1.4 model, but when I bought the D750 I decided to try this one, for it being ligther. The focus appears to be a little faster, but the image quality is the same.It balances very well with a D750, making a delightful combo. During my trip to New York and Washington I used it exclusevily, taking more than 700 photos. Very few moments and felt the need of a wider lens.
Excerpt: I use this for portraiture, specifically actor's head shots. Great bokah and it's more flattering than say a 35mm. The autofocus seems a little soft on my 5000 but could just be me. I'm pretty happy overall.
Excerpt: This lens was purchased to complete a set of fast primes (Nikon 35mm and Nikon 85mm) and photographing kids and families. It is a fast lens and picks up auto-focus great, which is perfect when taking pictures of your friends and their kids. One of the great things about a fast prime like this, is the shallow depth of field allowing you to utilize this lens for close-up photography and defocusing the background for portraits.
Pros: Easy To Use, Manual focus override, Small Filter Size
