Excerpt: Just got the lens to replace a very old 50mm. Have upgraded to full frame from the DX world and wanted a 1.4 or 1.8 for shooting night scenes. Early trials look great. Can hardly wait to take up into Cascades or Mt Rainier.
Excerpt: I am a new user of prime lenses, but my first test set of pictures with this lens already impressed me. Of course it is still a lot to learn how to get from this lens everything it can do. One thing already clear for me: I would never reach such a high quality of images with my zoom lenses like I reached using 50mm Nikkor.
Excerpt: Got the Nikon 1.8 G 50 mm lens for my D5100 Nikon and received the lens in five days with free shipping. I also have the 1.8 D lens but I like this one better. I also have the 40 mm 2.8 lens g macro.I raise tropical water lilies both lens work quite well. Good job B&H.
Excerpt: I have only ever used a kit lens before this purchase I love the sharpness I get in the face , mainly the eyes and that when shot almost wide open it can give you more successful shots in low lighting. The bokeh is really nice as well, with beautiful blown out backgrounds. If you are looking for a great prime lens for a reasonable price, you can't go wrong starting here.
