Excerpt: Purchased this lens along with a D810 from B&H. So far, so good. Have been a loyal supporter of B&H for many years because of their honesty, knowledge of the products they sell, integrity. and their very competitive pricing. They are authorized vendors for Nikon eliminating the fear of unknowingly receiving grey market products. The shipping is expedient and reliable as well.
Summary: Sharpness everywhere, beautiful contrast, fast auto focus, smooth and creamy bokeh wide open, good low-lighting performance, that's what you get when shooting with this lens. This is my favorite lens by far, everything just looks great. Perfect for portraits and close-up pictures but can be used in a lot of other situations.
Excerpt: Coming to prime lens which is a further extensive decision that i took, I got stuck with lot of options. There are too many prime lenses available and was unable to find the best one suitable for me. I have gone to many reviews and recommendations through out the net finally i purchased this lens. What can i say.. its so awesome for street photography and Bokey is just Bockelicious..! (sorry my spellings are wrong) The lens is very fast and very compatible with my D7100.
Excerpt: I love this lens. It was just what I needed to achieve the bokeh effect in my background . I needed to use a lower f stop for low lighting situations and found myself using it all over! I love the images I get with it. It's a good length and it's a more artistic look in the image . It only focuses on one subject and the rest of the image has a blur.
Excerpt: Love this lens! I was looking for something to compliment my 18-200mm which would provide a larger aperture and faster shutter speeds. Primarily for kids sports photos and random photography. I'm not a pro and don't consider myself advanced by any means. Bottom line is that I love this 50mm/1.8 lens. I've only had it for 2 weeks now, but have been able to take many great pics using the aperture priority setting.
