Excerpt: I love this lens. Watched Youtube videos where some reviews made critical comments about it being plastic instead of metal. That means nothing to me. This was my first lens, and it is miles beyond the kit lenses.
Summary: I'm still an amateur when it comes to photography. I halfway know my way around photoshop, but I know zip about manually setting ISO, aperture, etc etc. I'm too impatient to read my "Nikon For Dummies" book. I have a Nikon D3200 that I bought a few months ago and was eager to get some more lenses.
Excerpt: This lens has mega capability from portraits to weddings to landscapes to low light situations, etc. It not only provides great flexibility of purpose, but it also is great in low light situations.
Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Multi-purpose, Reliable
Excerpt: I am 59 years old, and I've always had a passion for photography. I started out with a 18-200mm lens which in my opinion took good pictures, but as time moved on I felt the need for a portrait lens.
Excerpt: It's a very reliable prime lens, I use a D7100 so it acts like a 75mm. It's a great portrait lens, and still a short enough focal length usable for a street photo lens on a crop sensitive DSLR. It's very lightweight. It shoots very well wide open.
