Excerpt: I love this lens for general use photography, group shots and full body portraits. It produces great bokeh on a D800e and is decently fast at focusing. Would recommend for any Nikon Full Frame DSLR.
Excerpt: I was very pleased when I pulled my new lense out of the box. It is very quiet compared to my other lenses and the automatic/manual option is brilliant. Definitely recommend this lense to anyone.
Excerpt: This is the lens most often on my camera. I use it without a filter because the element is set back somewhat from the front filter threads. I does a great job for me when I do street photography delivering great results, clear and wonderful bokeh. It is light, focuses fast and accurately and delivers the sharpest images I get with my D800. The price is good, I have not tried the other Nikon 50's but am very pleased with this little guy.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Low light performance, Nice Bokeh, Rugged
Excerpt: So far i have used it for portraits with really good results, also used with still life. Nice handling available light. Sharp subjects. Good auto focusing and highlighting subjects. Take the best out of ambient light. Manual focusing could be tricky at first, but once you get to manage it turns into great results and very helpful for outstanding your subject even on a cast day.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
