Excerpt: Incredibly sharp lens, does great at night and in low light situations. Fabulous blur, with beautifully sharp focus. I'm currently learning with my first DSLR, which I've had for 16 months. In addition to the kit 18-55mm, I have purchased the Tamron 18-270mm, and the Tamron 90mm Macro lens. I feel the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G has rounded out my gear bag perfectly, and that I'm now set to really learn, and increase my skills, as well as my creativity.
Excerpt: I have a Nikon D7100 which is a wonderful camera. I read all the reviews discussing the pros & cons when compared to similar lenses. You can measure a lens in the lab all you want (which appeals to me as a scientist) but at the end of the day it's what it does when it is attached to your camera body taking photos in the real, 3D world. The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G prime is a fantastic portraiture lens on a DX body.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
