Loved it

Frank, B&H Photo
1 April 2015
  • Excerpt: This lens is perfect for what it is. Warm and sharp, small and light. I used this a lot at first but eventually I sold because I already owned the 35mm 1.4g and couldn't justify it sitting around in my bag.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

Great lens!!

Kasey, Amazon
29 March 2015
  • Summary: I was in the market for a wide angle lens and the Nikon 28mm was the perfect choice and I don't regret it one bit. From the moment I took it out of the box it has had spectacular sharpness on my D750 and so far, no calibration needed!

Super sharp. I love it

David L. Umphfleet "DavidU", Amazon
19 February 2015
  • Summary: Wow! Makes my retinas bleed. It's so sharp. It fills the gap between my 14mm 2.8 & my 50 1.8G perfectly. It's fast, lightweight, sharp, quick accurate focus. I couldn't be happier. I got it on sale for 596.00. What a steal! Thanks Nikon. Another winner

Andrew, Amazon
28 December 2014
  • Summary: I have been using it ever since I bought it. If the professional lenses is super sharp, this lense is very sharp. Sure it has some weaknesses compared to professional lense but it worth it for the money.

Bright and Compact Wide Angle Lens

Scripps23, Nikon
7 December 2014
  • Summary: The Nikon 28mm f/1.8 wide angle lens is compact, optically superb, and great for nighttime hand held photography. Below are two photos taken at night, hand held, at a shutter speed of 1/125 of a second, an aperture of f/1.8, ISOs of 450 and 3200, Auto White Balance, and Matrix Metering.

Light weight, Sharp corner to corner

Beta SX, B&H Photo
5 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I use it for landscape and people and sports. I love that it's SO light weight... amazing. And it looks sharp corner to corner, which to be honest I was surprised at. On the down side, there is a bit of play in the focus ring which is a minor annoyance.
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
  • Cons: Play In Focus Ring

Just Right

pictureted, B&H Photo
28 September 2014
  • Excerpt: When shooting film with a Nikon F3HP, the 28/2.8 was one of my 2 most used lenses. When I went to DSLRs, I bought into DX and used 16-85 and 10-24 Zooms with happy success. When I bought a D810, I decided to return to primes with the 28/1.8G and 20/1.8G lenses to take advantage of the high...

  • Excerpt: I rung out this lens over many days, going back and re-shooting previous locations. Totally satisfied. I generally prefer fixed focus lenses. It has become my walk around lens. All pros and no cons for me. Thanks B&H for prompt service.
