Highly Recomended

  • Excerpt: I got this as a upgraded package deal with my D7000 several years ago and have since used it extensively. It has a good range, great sharpness and color. While it is not technically the 'best' lens in my quiver, it is the one that has been used for most of my favorite pictures, so I do consider it...
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction

Love this lens

  • Excerpt: Well built solid performer. Tack sharp focusing and the results have been wonderful. Given the high price of most FX format lenses the price for this lens is fairly easy on the wallet. You won't regret adding this lens to your camera bag.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Strong Construction

Perfect Walkaround Lens for FX

AustinTexan, B&H Photo
29 May 2015
  • Excerpt: This seems to be the perfect lens for a full-frame Nikon, especially in the D600-D700 range. I bought it for a D750 after finding the 24-120 to be rather bulky. For most of my subjects - urban and coastal landscapes and street photography - a moderate wide to minimal tele is perfect anyhow.
  • Pros: Balances Will With D750, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Seems well made

Darn Good.

  • Excerpt: Solid build. Sharp enough for my D810. VR quite effective. If you take lots of group portraits and photos, don't bother with the more expensive 24-70mm 2.8 -- this little puppy works great and is probably sharper.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction

Perfect all around lens

Patricio Jimenez, B&H Photo
19 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought this lens as a kit for d610. This lens is great for travel, great all around lens. It is lighweight, fast auto focus, well made, and the VR works great in low light. I use it for hiking, good for landscapes at 24mm stopped down to f 8-11 and works well to make some protraits at 85mm.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor in Low Light

Great for a walk-around lens.

Gregg Smith, Amazon
11 May 2015
  • Summary: I am giving this 5 stars for what it is...it's a great walk around lens. There is a lot of distortion at the low and high ends when the lens is wide open. More than I am used to seeing.

  • Excerpt: I had the earlier non VR version of this lens and used it on a D100 and D300 for years and loved it. I have more recently used the current VR version on a D610 and now a D750. I am very happy with the image quality.
