Excerpt: I've been using this lens with my D600 for the past year. I've gotten some outstanding shots, but I started to wonder if I'm loosing something on my full frame 24mp. So I rented the flagship 24-70 f2.8 and shot about 1000 shots over a weekend. I'm happy to say that this cheaper Nikon is as good as the more expensive one for 95% of shooting situations. You may not get the glorified corner-corner sharpness, but then again who really needs that all the time?
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: Instead of going on some Get Away 25th wedding anniversary trip, my amazing husband bought this lens for me. I LOVE IT. I'm able to do everything without switching out lens. I haven't missed a single shot opportunity. It's a keeper! My husband too!
Excerpt: The main limitation, common to zooms anyway, is distortion if you need to shoot architectural images. But for landscapes the limitation that has been noted is a bit more CA than other competing lenses. However, my copy has very little - less say than my Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 (which doesn't have a lot). It's also called soft in the extreme corners, but it isn't bad there and really, who but pixel peepers would care? It's a sharp lens.
Excerpt: I am a retired part-time professional. As I've gotten older, I've found it difficult to lug around heavy pro-grade lenses. I've found some consumer-grade lenses are very nearly equal to the pro lenses and perform very we'll when treated with reasonable care. I received this lens in a D600 package deal, and, I thought I would sell it, since I already had a Nikon 24-70 f2.8. I tested it carefully against my pro lenses and was surprised how good it was.
Pros: Compact, Consistent Output, Excellent resolution, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: Just receiver this lens , this is my first short telephoto I have a Nikon 28 to 300 and I love that one. I have only shot a couple of pictures with the new one but so far the pictures are sharp and crisp. This might be the top oh the Nikon lenses but all the reviews were great and I also have to say for the cost I do 't you can go wrong. B and.
