Summary: This is a wonderful lens, sharp focus and the zoom is quite versatile. I just have a little confusion about what happens if I forget to turn off the VR when swapping out the lens. The manual says I may hear a rattling sound but I don't .
Summary: Great buy at a reasonable price; meets expectations and great pictures. Very satisfied with purchased. Will recommend to my friends. The Lens is compatible with my NIKON Model; functions perfectly, the lens has no imperfections; almost brand new out of the box.
Nice great cheap little lens that takes good photos &won't break your back

Summary: Unbeatable at the price point. Recommended kit lens for any full frame. Only thing I can think of the autofocus is a tiny bit slow compared to other lenses I have used. I work in photo retouching and post processing / proofing for publishers and I have seen photos come in from any sort of photo-thing. This thing on a D800 is nothing short of medium format.
Summary: This is a great lens!!!! :) I would buy again. There is not a sign of any ware. Looks brand new.The auto focus is really fast. It takes amazing pictures! A ton better then the junk slow 18-55mm kit lens. The auto focus is really fast and it is dead on. Very sharp!!! The lens hood is junk. The one I got was all worn out. It would just rotate all of the time and fall off.
Summary: So far, I really like this lens. It's clear, great for multiple purposes (portraits, scenery, etc.). I like it for the "walkabout" factor. When you're not sure what you're going to be shooting and/or you don't want to switch lenses often, this is a good choice.
Summary: I use this lens on my D800 and I am extremely satisfied with it. I have a 24-70/f:2.8 lens as well but I prefer to take this lens everywhere I go due to its lightweight and the results are great for a kit lens as this one. I paid over $1,700 for my 24-70 and only $350 for this one, I love the compact size, and the VR feature functions extremely well with slow shutter speeds.
This lens complements the outstanding resolution of a Nikon D800.

Summary: I put this lens on a Nikon D800 with the hope it would complement the 36mp camera's resolving capacity. I recently enlarged a photo to 20X30 inches to check the resolution of the camera and lens combination. There is edge to edge high quality resolution. Thus far I am impressed with the lens.
Summary: great lens. It's my first experience w/ full-frame & FX and it was definitely worth the upgrade. The lens feels solid & w/ a zoom of 24-85 fits 99% of daily needs, thought the lowest f/stop is 3.5. If I need a little more bokeh, the software I have is great (Alien Skin).
