Excerpt: I needed an all around lens for my Nikon D750, and got a great deal on it when I purchased my D750. I had read mixed reviews about the lens, and took the risk. It was worth the risk. The lens isn't 100% tack sharp. I will admit that.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Nikon 24-120mm f/4G ED VR AF-S Nikkor review by ophiramitai

Summary: I have been using this lens on a crop camera for over 2 years. With the exception of the zoom creep and weight at first I really enjoyed the lens. But lately I have been having serious back focus issues which were not fixed in 2 labs. The lens also has relatively high CA.
Pros: good zoom range, build quality, constant F4 aperture
Cons: heavy, zoom creep and no lock, back focus issue, expensive

Excerpt: I bought this lens to be my go-to-lens for my new Nikon D610 and although I have only taken a few photos with it, I am impressed with the results; the images are sharp and very clear. The lens I bought was refurbished by Nikon, but I bought it for some $600.00 less than a brand new one.
Pros: Covers an excellent range for most photography needs. There is no lens creep at all. Excellent piece of glass that produces excellent details and results. Focus fast in both auto and manual modes.
Cons: As expected at wide angle, there is some vignetting, but is easily corrected in Lightroom or in Camera Raw. Lens is a little heavy, but it is manageable.
Excerpt: I have Nikon 14-24mm f2.8, 24-70mm f2.8, 70-200mm f2.8, etc. But for traveling, 24-120mm f4 is my choice. It is not as sharp as those above, but it is very acceptable. Please look at the samples of pictures that I took with this lens.
Summary: Pros - Pro level color and contrast - Center sharpness is very good Cons - Sharpness starts to gradually fade on the edges - Distortion is fairly strong, but can be corrected in post processing - Color fringing I only purchased this because I found a new copy in "white box" form for $689.
Summary: A bit hesitant in buying this lens. I already have the 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200. My biggest thing was lugging that 70-200 around and only using it for maybe a few shots while traveling. For my uses I don't care that this lens isn't f/2.8. This lenses is so much lighter and compact then the 70-200.
Excerpt: It offers great convenience with excellent sharpness and really amazing VR capability. However, it's not sealed as tightly as 24-70 due to its extending barrel design. As a result, over time, dust, moisture, sand can get inside the lens and Buyers need to be aware.
