Excerpt: I just bought and like it. I am a photo enthusiast and I like to shoot my family locally and during our many around the world trips. I have just replaced my my 28-200 lens from 15 years ago, and I must say, Nikon has continued to do a great job The construction is solid, the overall finish of my pictures is very good. This is a great all around lens for every day shots with very adequate versatility.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I bought this lens to replace the AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm 1: 3.5-4.5G. Although a bit heavier to handle, the clarity is amazing. I love the extended focal range which allows me to go from portraits to landscapes in a moments notice. This has become my new "everyday" lens and have proven itself many times over.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Perfect focal range, Strong Construction, Substantial
Excerpt: A walk around lens, on the F4 series is biot as sharp as the 16-35 or the 70-200 which is superb. I believe that Nikon must upgrade the optics to include in a "new" hole trinity on F4 lenses. Forf less money go for the 28-300, at least you gain more range and similar quality.
Excerpt: I recently purchased the AF-S Nikkor 24-124mm Zoom Lens by Nikon for a trip to Yellowstone. I used it with my Nikon D610 camera and it turned out to be a perfect around lens for all of the beautiful scenes at this famous national park. It focused quickly and correctly and never had a bad photo out of hundreds that I took while on this vacation.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I had an initial review on this lense and I love it! But now after working with it some more and finding its sweet spot, I found that at 120mm setting, the images are a bit (pixel peep microscope eval)on the soft side. I backed it up to 100mm to see if I can squeeze out more sharpness out of it and detail. My results are amazing (to me at least)!! See images below. These are taken at f5.6, 1/160s, ISO 1000 with VR on.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Excerpt: First off, B&H Photo is outstanding! Great service and super fast delivery! It was between the Nikon 24-70 2.8 or this one. I chose the 24-120 F4 because I needed the extra reach to 120mm for a practical walkaround lense. Also, being mated to the D4s with it's clean high ISO to 6400, it made up for not being a F2.8. Did several testing making sure the optics are sharp. I must say, this lense ROCKS!!!
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rocks With The D4s, Strong Construction
Excerpt: By comparison, for years I've been using the great Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8 VR1 lenses, many times under light levels limited to around f/3.2 so I'm familiar with their high performance at wide aperture. I consider this lens to be nearly in the same professional quality class.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Good Image quality, Lightweight, Strong Construction
