versatile, lightweight, crisp images, easy to use. Great Value

Summary: I've used this lens for everything from pix of bees on flowers to county fair action shots. I really like it! It gets very close for macro shots and still has enough aperture for a decent depth of field but still enough light gathering with supplemental flash. The 55mm length is pretty good for general distance pictures, although it makes me want the 18-200mm even more.
Cheap, great product, recommend VR version for price but not sure why yet.

Summary: Well, having little to compare this to in terms of others lens' and only recently taking photography more seriously, this was exactly what I expected. The VR version does seem to produce sharper images, it seems good quality (a little light for me weightwise though), well built and very fast to auto focus. And very cheap.
A genuine Nikkor lens at a fraction of the local price.

Summary: I purchased this lens as a replacement for my original lens which was damaged when the camera was knocked to the ground. To buy locally I was quoted possibly over $300.00 for repair or $300.00 for a new lens. The lens came in around $100.00 delivered through EBAY so I felt it was worth trying. The lens is a genuine Nikkor and functions perfectly as it should.
Nikon 18-55mm Telephoto Lens... a must-have for every camera bag.

Summary: The secret to good photography is a great lens, and that is why you need a foundation lens for your inventory of leses. The Nikon series of Digital Cameras all can use this great, dependable 18-55mm lens to help you take great photos. Make sure, however, that you know which version you are buying, because this lens has been around for well over a decade and there are several versions, including a VR version that addresses rapid AF action when shooting action shots on the...
Summary: Very impressive lens, especially for the money. It is light in weight and it performs flawlessly. Great picture quality. Sharpness and contrast are tops. It is a "kit" lens and, as such, it is not designed for heavy use but it is more than adequate for the casual photographer wanting top quality results.
Summary: I took this to capture U2 at 360 Denver and Salt Lake City last week. I must say this lens, even without VR is absoluteley awesome. It takes SHARP images. I shot in RAW so the detail was astounding. Not the best for low light, you have to play with the aperture and sharpness settings for that, but with enough light available, WOW. I have a Nikon D80 and this lens is perfect. Highly recommended. Going to add an 18-70 GII ED for the next part of the tour.
