Excerpt: I bought this lens 2 years ago and it was great at first. I was taking photos at 300mm handheld and they were really sharp. After about a year the lens would not focus automatically or manually. No matter what I do I can't get a sharp picture. I've always been very careful with my camera and lenses. I haven't banged them or dropped them.
Excerpt: Though i have taken only less than 500 photographs so far, i am not at all happy with the quality of the output. Beyond 250 there is heavy noise and i do not see any significant difference over my kit lens 55-200mm. This is not at all compatible with any of the tele-convertors as well. I have taken some low light photography , which turned out to be awful.
Excerpt: Lens is not what one would expect from Nikon. It is what you would expect from China ( where this lens is made). A not so good paper weight. The lens would not focus at infinity, lens tube was loose when fully zoomed and the focus would change when the shutter was released. Not my cup of tea to say the least. And the least said the better.
Cons: No Increase In Performance, Poor Clarity, Poor quality control
The lense shown is a DX NOT and ED Lense! It makes a difference of about $500!

Summary: The description of this lens says its and ED lens, but the image is a DX! There is a huge difference in price as the ED is pro quality the DX is not. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.
I got lense nikon af-s 55mm 300mm with water spot ...

Summary: I got lense nikon af-s 55mm 300mm with water spot inside middle of lense wich I cant able to clear with clinging material and as per my order there must be 5pc of filter lenses but I got just 3pc of filter lenses.
Summary: Didn't even try the lens. But I am sure it is good as the five star reviews state. The box didn't contain a Nikon warranty. When giving bad feedback, you will receive an email from them saying that they will give you 1 years warranty return to them and will extend it by 6 months if you remove the bad feedback. Bunch of chancers if you ask me. It appears they were getting to much negative press about their antics and changed their name to GGEEDD.
Summary: GREY IMPORT with all documentation in Chinese - but bought through AMAZON PRIME so there's something wrong here!! Because it was not a UK-authorised product, Nikon refused, quite understandably, to pay the £45 cashback for which a UK purchase from Currys would have qualified - I wonder if Amazon will pay me instead?? Being serious, where do I stand with regard to repairs under whatever warranty the lens came with?
