Nice for lowlight...and very sharp

Gregg Smith, Amazon
  • Summary: I bought this and the f1.4 50mm to use for low light and actually am really enjoying the sharpness of both these lenses. They are both very sharp, easy to haul around, and I know zooms are all the craze...

A must buy!

  • Excerpt: I bought my first dSLR a few years back (from B&H), coming from a point and shoot, to get better quality pictures. Being a complete noob, I went with the most basic DX Nikon had to offer - the D3200 which included the 18-55 kit lens and I opted to bundle the 55-300 for a good price.

Love this lens!

  • Excerpt: I bought this lens for event photography and an "easy-pick-up-and-go" lens. I was using a 50mm but found that I was too close to my subject when I was indoors or not doing a photo shoot. I LOVE this lens! It fits my needs PERFECTLY! I love the f-stop range.
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

Great Value

Miguel, B&H Photo
2 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I use the 35mm with a Nikon d810. It's light, focuses quickly and accurately, and the image quality is generally what I'd expect from a quality prime. The lens does tend show a bit of CA / purple fringing, but it's easily corrected in post. Overall, I'm very happy with the lens.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

Exceptional Lens for Price

Elizabeth, B&H Photo
1 May 2015
  • Excerpt: My husband and I photograph weddings together and this is a great little lens for both tight spaces and low lighting. It focuses quickly and produces beautiful images. The distortion from the wide angle is not too noticeable either.

Nice Addition To My Prime Collection

Dave R, B&H Photo
28 April 2015
  • Excerpt: This lens is just about as expected. It focuses quickly and pictures are very sharp. The lightweight design makes it a pleasure to carry for log periods of time. I would have given it five stars if the bokeh was as nice as the 85mm 1.8.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
