Excerpt: I consider this to be a pretty good lens. Not the best in my kit, but not bad, and definitely worth keeping. Very light and compact so it's easy to carry around. Sharp enough. Control over CA and purple fringing good except in the most extreme situations - nothing I consider a problem.
Excerpt: I am a "prime" kinda guy...for the small size benefit more than anything else. Wish Nikon made a 35mm *equivalent" 1.8 prime like this. The new 24mm 1.4 is too big, heavy and expensive for me. This lens is very nice.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: While my zoom lens gives me the same settings I find the fixed 35mm lens keeps me honest. Using this lens produces sharp images and requires me to arrange the shot rather than zooming from a distance. I feel this lens makes me feel more connect to the subject. I love it.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Summary: I've had this lens now for a good few months and it is my most used lens for nearly everything. Image quality is fantastic, can not complain. To those that take off stars for its build quality I'd like you to take into consideration its advantage over the more expensive and heavier 1.4g.
