Summary: Overall I have been quite disappointed with this lens. I use it on a D7000. It resolves very poorly (a lot of detail is lost) when the subject is at a distance, making it a poor landscape lens (tripod does not help). I also own the Nikon 17-55, and at overlapping focal distances the 17-55 far out resolves the 10-24, it isn't even close. For the price, it has definitely been a disappointment.
Summary: I had a 10-20mm Sigma Zoom which I dropped by accident. Not a big fall but nonetheless it did break the cheap lens hood. I got this lens and am feeling really ripped off by Nikon. As soon as I got it I put it on my D300s and went outside to do some shooting. Using a tripod and also a remote shutter release I shot at 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, and 24mm. F-stops used at each focal length were f4 - f32.
