Summary: At first, this lens took some time to get used to but when I made those recommended updates with the Nikon D7000 camera; then I was pleased with the results. Excerpt: I put my Nikon 85mm DX Macro Lens through its paces this weekend. It performed extremely well as both a macro lens and a portrait lens. Its light weight makes it very portable and the optics are excellent.
Summary: I have been completely pleased with this purchase. The lens takes some adjusting to, but that is normal and the quality of the photos produced have more than met my expectations. I have been using this lens now for just a little more than 3 months on and off.
Summary: Absolutely one of the best investments on a lens I've ever made. The autofocus is fast and accurate. 85mm is just enough focal length too. Almost got the 105, but in my opinion its not worth the extra 300ish. This suits my photographic needs phenomenally
Excerpt: This lens is amazing. I've used it for portraits, nature, animals, etc. Photos are sharp yet has just the right amount of bokeh around the focus point. Occasionally will search for focal point, especially in low light, but it's nothing to really complain about. Overall it's an amazing lens to have.
Summary: This is quite clearly a great lens. I bought it to be used with my D7100. The combination is perfect. The lens is sharp and focuses really quickly. I have not used it a lot since it's a new acquisition, but I have made some images that convinced me this lens is really good.
