Pleased

 • Excerpt: I bought this lens because I was not happy with the result of the zoom that came with the camera. I've been taking pictures of dogs at our local shelter to post on the website and found that I spent a lot of time adjusting the brightness, correcting the color and sharpness. With this lens, I spend about a quarter of the time correcting the photographs.
 • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight

I received this lens in good working order and in a timely manner.

 • Summary: The lens is quite a good investment. I wanted a lens that could do closeups, micro in particular. The lens fits nicely on my Nikon d7000 and works nicely in low light.

Wonderful Product

 • Summary: This lens was an answer to my problems in photographing jewelry for listing at Ebay and other online sales sites. The lens hood gets rid of unwanted glare from sparkling rhinestones or polished gold. I can even successfully photograph the designer stamp (designer name, 925 sterling silver stamp, 12k, 14kGF, etc.) on the back of a piece of jewelry without resorting to a magnifying glass. I just received the lens yesterday and was able to start photographing right away.

Finally bought it

 • Summary: Have been using one for a long time from a friend and finally broke down and bought my own. I love this lens. It does double duty as a prime and as a macro. It is a cheap lens that delivers very good results. I have many old school Nikkor lenses and this one is right up there with them.

Start building your gear

 • Excerpt: This lens is great specially for those that start building their gear. I't's a fast lens, it's a macro lens and the 40mm give's you a pretty decent angle of view.

Good to keep in your bag at anytime.

The only thing I don't quite like is the screw in hood. I like the snap on.
 • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Good Image quality, Lightweight

Excellent quality and value

 • Summary: As a long-time Nikon user (first Nikkormat with a 2.0 50 mm in 1970) I have always gone with Nikon quality. This lens is a great buy, combining excellent picture quality, light weight and great value. Added bonuses are included lens hood and soft case. I bought it for a trip to Costa Rica to use on my D7100. I had focal lengths from 18 mm to 300 mm to nothing with an extremely close focus. This goes down to 1:1 at about 6 inches.
