Bright, light lens is fun bring along

Adorama
19 November 2013
 • Excerpt: I purchased this lens through the used department. Adorama said it had minor damage, but that damage seems to have no effect on the function of the lens at all so I got a great deal. I will definitely buy from the used department more often.

This lens is light and compact compared to most of my other lenses so it is easy to carry all day. It is a little soft and mushy at f/1.4 and it has a bit of purple fringing there, but I expected that.
 • Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

50 f/1.4 D autofocus review

 • Excerpt: I use this lens on my d2x both indoors and outside, and I find its light sensitivity and sharp images are beautiful, but this D lens does not consistently work as well on my d800.

Great lens

 • Excerpt: A great simple lens. Sharp, focuses fast and quietly, wide aperture for great low light and shallow-depth-of-field, good bokeh, good color. Be aware this lens will not autofocus on D3000 and D5000 series cameras (you will need the "G" series for this) however on camera that does have an internal focus motor it works wonderfully, it's a dream with my D800.
 • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh

Great purchase! Can't go wrong with this

 • Excerpt: The only reason I don't give this lens a five star rating is only on fault of my own for not reading completely that with a camera without a full size sensor it makes the lens 70 mm instead of 50mm. Other than that I love it. I shoot with a Nikon d200 and the photos I get are sharp, crisp, and very vibrant even in low light situations.

 • Excerpt: I recently purchased my first Nikon camera and this is my first lens. I am still in the process of learning what all it can do, but I have been very pleased with the outcome of the images. Someone like me, who doesnt have great skills yet, can still get great looking images!
 • Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
