Excerpt: The Nikon store has this in the Close Up (Macro) lens section and there are no values in any portions of the Tech Specs sections. However, based on it being in the macro section, I expected a macro lens and sent this page to my wife as a Christmas gift suggestion. Since returning it would be a slap in my wife's face, I'm stuck with it and she thinks it's a macro lens. (which I find more upsetting than being stuck with a lens I didn't really want). By the way.
Summary: Take the sharpest lens , and all the research, money and time spent by you on selecting a great lens and then have it shipped by the worlds worst shipper... This nikon lens in its nikon packaging was put into a brown cardboard box flat against the box floor, tight against the side of the box and tight against the top of the box. Foam peanuts filled the rest of the box which did nothing to protect this lens. This lens got pounded during shipping from Crutchfield to me.
Summary: Sent this one back to Amazon for a refund, must have got a lemon, it was the worst Nikon lens I've ever bought. The sharpness was very good, but at F1.8 the colour fringing was simply awful. I bought instead the Nikon 85mm f/3.5G AF-S DX VR Micro Lens and this lens gives amazing results on my D7000.
