Get this lens for sports photos - day or night action - they will be great!

Summary: Bought this lens to take pictures of my son's senior year in high school football season and WOW! It has been used with my Nikon D7000. I have taken pictures of day games, night games, pictures of players, pictures of fans and pictures of cheerleaders - they are all amazing. Clear pictures even low-light action shots taken using extreme ISO levels like 3,200 and 4,000. I love this lens.
Summary: I usually shoot high school sports but I was asked to shoot some college football. For daytime shots, this lens is amazing! Lots of fun to use with different zoom points and great reach for close-ups. A bit heavy, so use your monopod or tripod. Plus I didn't use VR in the lower light shots - the VR tended to focus on the far items versus the closer ones. I got the stability with the monopod and faster shooting with the VR off. But I'm still experimenting.
Summary: I take it with me whenever I am in a situation to photograph wildlife. I may also keep it with me for outdoor weddings that tend to get spread out so that I can get the longer telephoto reach.
Excerpt: I'm using this on my D-300 and I am very pleased. After spending a day with it, using it on various wildlife (birds, dogs, deer, insects, etc., moving and stationary), landscapes (mountains, trees, buildings, etc.), and even photographing flying airplanes and the moon in a daytime sky, I was very pleased that vibration and stability was not a problem.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Stable Vr, Strong Construction
