Great features with limitations for the wildlife/landscape photographer.

Excerpt: I jusy purchased the camera today so I little to no experience with the camera. However I will comment on what I've Discovered so far. The requirement for the use of an eyepiece cap under the conditions specified indicates a faulty SLR design, not to mention the fact that it is very difficult to remove the eyepiece and insert the plug. I this will be especially cumbersome when shooting wildlife and to a lesser degree landscapes.
Excerpt: I got a 24-70/2.8 lens a year ago but of a different brand. After comparing it to the Nikon brand, I have decided to switch to Nikon. It is a better fast focused one although it is a bit heavier.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I have had this camera for approximately a month and have taken maybe 200 photos. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of the photo's. One concern is the Warranty Programs "Yellow" form that is included with the camera and lenses. It states on the Warranty that Registration within ten days of purchase required for ESC coverage. I disagree with Nikon's policy on this.
Excerpt: I've had this lense for six months. Wonderful build quality at the expense of weight. Too heavy for a neck strap so I went to a shoulder strap that handles the weight just fine. I do find that I'm at 70mm most of the time and wishing for more reach. So if I had to do it all over again, I would opt for the smaller and more discrete 85m 1.4 for the ultimate in bokeh with less weight.
Excerpt: I won't waste time with technical comparisons. I love having it on my camera and I never want to go somewhere without it. Yes it is heavy, yes it is large, yes you will stand out in the crowd but the pure joy of using this lens is well worth it. 1. If you don't mine weight/size then buy it and you won't regret it. 2. If you do mind weight/size then rent it for 2 days (preferably for a outing) and see if you regret shipping it back...
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus
