Excerpt: This camera is very nice. It comes with a very good beginner lens and has good quality. This camera also is very light weight for the size and is easy to learn. The instruction manual helps a lot for the basics but if you want to learn more you may want to take a class or watch a you tube video.
Excerpt: I jusy purchased the camera today so I little to no experience with the camera. However I will comment on what I've Discovered so far. The requirement for the use of an eyepiece cap under the conditions specified indicates a faulty SLR design, not to mention the fact that it is very difficult to...
Excerpt: I got a 24-70/2.8 lens a year ago but of a different brand. After comparing it to the Nikon brand, I have decided to switch to Nikon. It is a better fast focused one although it is a bit heavier.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I have had this camera for approximately a month and have taken maybe 200 photos. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of the photo's. One concern is the Warranty Programs "Yellow" form that is included with the camera and lenses.
Summary: Purchased this lens to replace my favorite lens: the Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 lens as I went full frame. The 24-70mm f/2.8 delivers great IQ and balances well with my full frame SLR. It's also fits the range that like to shoot.
Pros: Very good IQ, fast lens.
Cons: Price. Way too expensive and not worth the price, in my opinion. Nikon has raised prices on all of their Nikkor lens for no apparent reason. Might be to offset their losses after the earthquake & tsunamis. Lens case is flimsy and a VR version of this lens is desired by all.
Excerpt: I've had this lense for six months. Wonderful build quality at the expense of weight. Too heavy for a neck strap so I went to a shoulder strap that handles the weight just fine. I do find that I'm at 70mm most of the time and wishing for more reach.
