While I hope to create a full Nikon 14mm f/2.8D AF Lens, my first priority is to include results from this lens in the lens comparison tools available on the site. This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information and standard results for the Nikon 14mm f/2.8D AF Lens. Read more

  1. I think someone used the term stellar, and it fits

I'd ignore the 1 star review of this lens as the reviewer completely misses the capabilities of this lens that a zoom won't have. It is fast, both in operation and aperture. And with coverage for an FX format sensor, 14mm is something that would only be a dream awhile back. now I'm no scientist, and there's a 16mm fisheye, but this is wider but not a fisheye. So what gives? Read more or see product

This lens may be a soft out on the corners at full aperture for sharpness but it more than makes up for it with central and foreground sharpness which astounds me no end, and it is only when pixilation become an issue with my D700 camera sensor image quality becomes an issue. I usually avoid having round objects like clocks on a wall or cups on a coffee table in the corners of the image for such ultrawide lenses because they become strangely elongulated so I rarely have... Классика! Легенда! Должен иметь каждый. Аналогов нет. Круче только с VR (хотя это спорно). Жаль на кропе узковат выходит для портретника. Ждем от никона аналогичный вариант для кропа (50-150). Read more or see product

I had a chance to borrow this lens two years ago to use on my D200. I was very impressed. When I moved to the full frame world recently, I wanted a lens that would give me about the same perspective the Nikon DX 10.5mm did on my D200 and D300. I use that perspective to show people working, with plenty of their surroundings, to tell the whole story with one shot. The 14mm is a significant step up from the DX lens, which I really like. I'm not sattisfied with the quality of this product. The image quality is not of Nikon standard. I bought this for trekking, because of the weight, but should have brought my Sigma 18-50mm instead. More heavy, but far better image quality. Read more or see product

So I purchased this lens for a lot of my hotel photography shot before I bought the 14-24mm zoom version of this lens. To be perfectly honest, I dont notice much of a difference in sharpness and image quality between the 14-24mm and this 14mm prime. For that reason I would recommend spending the money on the zoom version of this lens. Also, 14mm on a full frame sensor is mega wide and may be too wide for most. Read more
