Tiny But Optically Superb and Versatile Zoom Lens
9 November 2014
Summary: The Nikon 1 10-100mm zoom lens is optically superb and elevates the Nikon 1 system to new heights. The focal length of 27 to 270mm (35mm equivalent) is very versatile and the excellent Vibration Reduction (VR) feature produces images that rival DSLR results. The photo below was taken with a Nikon 1 V1 camera body at a shutter speed of 1/125 of a second (hand held), an aperture of f/5.3, a focal length of 77.49mm (35mm equivalent), an ISO of 200, Auto White Balance, and...
A great versatile lens, shoot group shots or the moon!
2 September 2013
Summary: I bought this lens for my Nikon 1 V1 before I began a year studying abroad in Tokyo. 3 months in and I am still very happy with this lens. It is extremely versatile, I can shoot large group shots at 10mm and have incredible zoom at 100mm (I was even able to get a pretty sharp shot of a full moon with a bit of cropping). It really is like having several lenses packed into one.
Summary: I was initially hesitant to get this lens being normally a DSLR user. But after a recent vacation and only taking my Nikon AW-1 and this lens I'm convinced. The quality of the images is everything I hoped it would be and the lens is fast and allows for shutter speeds you would normally get some movement blur on.
Summary: This is an awesome walk around lens for Nikon 1 Mirrorless Cameras. The build quality is much better than that of the 10-30mm vr and 30-110mm vr lens. The metalic zoom ring feels nicer and is smooth. The zoom release button is also smooth compared to the 10-30mm and 30-110mm release button which sticks sometimes and feels cheap.
Summary: Excellent lens, although large cumbersome, all is forgiven thanks to the IQ churded out. Lens used on a Nikon 1 V1, what you loose in the way of camera compactness you gain in image quality and convenience. Now not necessary to carry and change two lenses (10-30mm & 30-110mm ) can leave this 10-100mm all the time. Go Nikon!
Summary: This lens combines the zoom range of the Nikon 1 10-30 and 30-100 lenses. Is as sharp at the 30-100 and sharper than the 10-30 (though, of course, is bigger than either). Especially useful in fast-moving shooting situations outdoors, where changing lenses is awkward and the danger of a dusty environment getting stuff on the sensor is greater.
