Summary: This lens combines the zoom range of the Nikon 1 10-30 and 30-100 lenses. Is as sharp at the 30-100 and sharper than the 10-30 (though, of course, is bigger than either). Especially useful in fast-moving shooting situations outdoors, where changing lenses is awkward and the danger of a dusty environment getting stuff on the sensor is greater.
Summary: This is an excellent super zoom lens. It is fairly sharp with good contrast. It has similar image quality as the older, bigger, 10-100mm power zoom lens. If you want a one lens that does it all walk around lens, this is it. Compact and about the size as the 30-110mm VR Lens. It has better build quality than the "kit" zoom lenses (10-30mm, 30-110mm VR). Still, the kit lenses are very good especially the 30-110mm. You get this lens for convenience.
Excerpt: It is sharp enough to take it everywhere and shoot just about any subjects with good results. It is not quite as sharp at some of the focal lenths like the 30-110 but close enough to accept it as a good compromise. In the middle of the range 20-50mm gets a little soft towards the corners, but with a little bit of extra sharpening in PS makes it acceptable. All in all I would recommend it but for more critical subject photography I take my 10-30mm and 30-110mm lenses.
Summary: Excellent lens, although large cumbersome, all is forgiven thanks to the IQ churded out. Lens used on a Nikon 1 V1, what you loose in the way of camera compactness you gain in image quality and convenience. Now not necessary to carry and change two lenses (10-30mm & 30-110mm ) can leave this 10-100mm all the time. Go Nikon!
Summary: This is an awesome walk around lens for Nikon 1 Mirrorless Cameras. The build quality is much better than that of the 10-30mm vr and 30-110mm vr lens. The metalic zoom ring feels nicer and is smooth. The zoom release button is also smooth compared to the 10-30mm and 30-110mm release button which sticks sometimes and feels cheap.
A great versatile lens, shoot group shots or the moon!

Summary: I bought this lens for my Nikon 1 V1 before I began a year studying abroad in Tokyo. 3 months in and I am still very happy with this lens. It is extremely versatile, I can shoot large group shots at 10mm and have incredible zoom at 100mm (I was even able to get a pretty sharp shot of a full moon with a bit of cropping). It really is like having several lenses packed into one.
Excerpt: This lens is only about .25 inches longer than the 30-110, which I also own, and it's performance is nearly identical, so much so that the 30-100 won't be used again. I've used the 18-200 DX and this lens is superior by leaps and bounds at the long end. I also use the new 24-120 f4 on FX and this lens is just as sharp. There is nothing more I could ask for in this lens' performance, except a bigger aperture but then it wouldn't be so small would it?
