Summary: I am sure that this lens is a great tool and does what it is suppose to do. I like accessories for my camera so I can have choices. Of course I have just about all the available lenses for my Nikon 1 V1. When I purchased this lens, I only learned that this lens was no better than the Nikon 1 Nikkor 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 VR that I have already pruchased. In fact the 10-30mm had the vibration reduction (VR) feature that made it better.
Nikon 1 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 Nikkor review by Prime Minister

Summary: This Nikon 1 11-27.5mm lens performs better then I thought it would. I guess it's because of the new design with ED and aspherical glass elements. Zooming isn't very smooth but it isn't bad either. The lens feels a bit cheap. Maybe because it's so light and mostly made of plastic. It does have a metal mount though and it's not an expensive lens. It's very compact and about a centimeter shorter then the Nikon 1 VR 10-30mm lens.
Pros: Very small and lightweight, sharp and contrasty
Summary: I considered Nikon 1 system because of the compact size and great image quality pictures it is able to produce. Nikon 1 cameras have smaller sensors. Many people wave it off due to this reason. Well, my J1 is capable of producing great images regardless of it's sensor size. I already have Canon 7D and I wanted something small for carry everywhere. I chose J1 over the V1 because of weight and size. Still, there had to be reason for Nikon choosing the smaller sensor.
Summary: I bought this lens for it's size and weight to use in digiscoping; using a camera to make images through a spotting scope. For this purpose it really worked as expected. I have not used it for any general photography so can't speak for it's broader use.
Summary: I have developed my latest camera gear into a professionally worthy system, and the Nikon 1 Nikkor 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.5.6 (White) lens is a worthy addition. Clarity through it's range, it is superb for fast, close-in work. I have a Nikon 1 J1 and a Nikon 1 V2, and all of the Nikkor lenses that these camera bodies can handle.
Summary: Despite the fact that this lens has no VR, the images it creates on the the V1 and V2 look sharper than my old 10-30mm. It's also smaller and lighter. The difference in focal length compared to the 10-30 is small enough to be ignored.
