Excerpt: Solid build, outstanding macro capabilities. The focus confirm feature still works with manual focus on my A99 and is very accurate. Have not tried the aperture disks yet, still pleased with the sharpness wide open at f4. The A99 allows you to crop in on the FF sensor so I get the best of both worlds with this combo. I am impressed with the Lensbaby product and will purchase the composer pro/edge 80 combo if they offer the combo discount for the Sony mount.
Summary: EXCELLENT PRODUCT TO USE FOR A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW IN SHOOTING...I SHOOT WITH THE COMPOSER LENSBABY AND GOT THIS AS AN ADD ON FOR DIFFERENT EFFECT...BE WARNED THAT YOU GET ALOT OF DISTORTION ON THE EDGES OF THE PHOTOS, BUT THE PHOTOS AND COLOR THE LENS PRODUCES IS WELL WORTH LOSING SOME OF THE CORNERS...
Summary: I took this lens to Cambodia, along with the Rokinon 8mm Fisheye and a few other lenses. The Lensbaby Fisheye was by far the funnest lens to shoot with. In addition to getting a nice wide angle on things, it can serve as a macro lens substitute. Pictures are clear, color reproduction is great. Highly recommend for those who want to explore with their photography.
Summary: Honestly, I really like the Lensbaby stuff before this purchase,so I am a bit biased and don't care. The Scout feels like a precision piece of metal in my hand and the lens moves with it flawlessly. It is easy to mount to my 7D and it takes a great picture. I played with some of the aperture disc for the FE and found that they are a bit hit and miss which to me is fun - maybe a bother to others (others who probably should have bought a traditional FE) I used it with my...
Summary: What a great value for the money. A Fish Eye and a Macro wrapped into one. This lens has a bit of a learning curve - it takes some experimentation to get the exposure correct. The photos are sharp and I cannot believe how close you can get to your subject. And the Fish Eye effect - what fun!
Summary: I shoot with a a Sony A65 and shopped around for a Fish-eye Lens. I was debating on dropping the $850.00 on a Sony lens or the $650.00 on a sigma but am happy i didn't at this point in my photography career. I dropped the 250.00 and went with lens baby and couldn't be more satisfied with the fish-eye lens. It is very fishy! although it is manual focus, which i actually prefer, it is one hell of a deal if you are going for the fish-eye look for cheap!
Summary: This is a great addition to the LensBaby line, and allows you to get creative in a lot of new ways. The product is made up of two distinct parts, the Scout Lens Assembly, and the Fisheye optic. The Scout lens assembly works with all your LensBaby optics, focuses smoothly and is well built and solid. Unlike the Composer or Muse, this unit does not bend, flex, or twist. When you use optics with a sweet spot of focus, that sweet spot will always be perfectly centered.
Summary: Love this lens, can create some fantastic images with the amazing fisheye on this, and even more effects combining with the optic kit and the aperture discs, opens a whole new style to photography.
