Summary: I would suggest that anyone who purchases this...also purchase the class. I have struggled to find the sweet spot of focus. I have some very creative pics without the class but for the price of this item its best to just crowbar open that wallet and buy the class...
Summary: To start, this is a very unique lens. It shifts the plane of focus to produce interesting out-of-focus effects. There are many different versions of the Lensbaby - I have only used this one. I am a wedding photographer by trade, but I also shoot nature and wildlife photography.
Fun lens - Not as challenging as you may led to believe

Summary: This is a fun lens. Very well made, exceeded my expectations as to build quality. While some of the effects you can handle in post-processing, you are going to struggle to get the same effect. Well worth the investment.
Excerpt: I am primarily an architectural and fine art photographer and this tool has been great to have at my disposal from time to time. Though it is a one trick pony, my clients have enjoyed seeing a few images with this selective focus lens in their galleries.
Excerpt: Great asset for creative use in close up and near photos - got to learn exposure and the effect of the lens angle to modify the sweet spot but quite simple - gives a new perspective on the use of blur
Summary: I purchased the Composer Pro as a "toy" for my professional photography bag. Honestly, I had no intent to use it at weddings or any other professional shoot but I was very pleased to learn that it's not only a fun lens but with the macro kit takes amazing ring/detail shots.
Excerpt: I have had this lens for two weeks and must admit that it takes some getting use to. However, if you take the advice on the web page and start out usinf f4-5.6 things become easier. I also like that the manual nature of this lens is helping me expand my photographic knowledge and skill.
Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
