OK for price!

Videonut, B&H Photo
23 December 2012
  • Excerpt: Placed it on a Canon HV10 camcorder. OK as long as you don't have zoom all the way back, then corners will be blacked out. Works as well as any lens in this price point.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Strong Construction

Great little lens

TechieM2, B&H Photo
6 March 2012
  • Excerpt: I bought this based on the price and on the other reviews posted from people using it on my camcorder (JVC Everio GZ-HM320). It is easy to attach and works well. I have it threaded on to the UV filter I have on the camcorder and I haven't noticed any quality difference in the little testing I've done so far.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight

a bit hard to find great value

  • Summary: it is worth the price paid for it, but was hard to find elsewhere. Nothing extra special to get a higher rating, nothing wrong to get a lower rating.

  • Excerpt: This lens works perfect for my DIY interchangeable lens mount. I have an iPhone 4s and use it for HD video. I needed a wide lens for it so I made my own lens mount and now its like having a 17mm on my iPhone. Check out my web site to see it in use.

Works great, with only one weakness

Gully, B&H Photo
13 October 2011
  • Excerpt: The construction of this lens is substantial and quality made. The optics in wide to medium zoom are fantastic. The only weakness I have noticed is when you zoom really far in to get a head and shoulders shot the image is somewhat blurry, though not terrible. I assume this is the nature of these lenses though. We use this to broadcast and record high school games and it works great on both SD and HD camcorders.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction

Does what I need at a good price

Loopshackr, B&H Photo
18 July 2011
  • Excerpt: Using this converter with the same JVC Everio HD camcorder as a previous reviewer, and I echo his comments. This camcorder can't zoom "wide" enough for good results in medium- or smaller-sized rooms, and the converter helps greatly. Looks like it was made for the camcorder when mounted. Seems well-constructed and well-finished.
