Summary: Nice lens. Not too wide but capable of great landscape and starfield shots. Also works well for street and even certain portraits. Small with external focusing movement (lens telescopes in and out a little at the tip when focusing). Cap on this lens still fits when using a 52 mm B+W UV haze filter. Good metal build quality and decent bokeh for the focal length. Came new in sealed box with a lens hood and lens hood cover.
Excellent image maker with a stubborn aperture ring

Summary: This is a terrific little lens! The colors , contrast and overall vibrance of the lens are superb. As an image maker it is top tier. My sample is sharp across the frame with straight verticals and horizontals at the edges providing I am mindful of my composition. Now, the very puzzling part of what is an excellent lens; the welcomed aperture ring is quite rough when going from aperture to aperture.
the corners are not sharp but that's fine for portrait photographers

Summary: the corners are not sharp but that's fine for portrait photographers. this is a great 35mm lens for old schools and people who don't want a 50mm. it focuses fast, it's sharp, and it's small. great pancake lens.
Summary: I liked this lens, but most reviews say that it is not sharp enough. That made me sell it and get the zoom to have more flexibility, but looking back, maybe I should of kept it. I like the small pancake size.
Summary: Pros: Lightweight, small, wonderful fit and finish, wide angle, low distortion, good color, mostly good contrast Cons: resulotion not great, bad resolution in corners, must stop down heavily to use as landscape offering, good for street photos as long as you dont focus on architecture- meaning bad for architecture. I really like this lens, I wish it performed as well as other fuji offerings especially for the price that I got it for.
Summary: I have only had the Fuji X-pro1 for a couple of months now and started out with this lens and the 60mm. I just recently purchased the 23mm and have to say that this one gets more use! I'm not sure about all the talk about this lens being substandard or soft as I have received many compliments on the pictures I have taken with it, and am quite taken with them myself.
Excerpt: F stops click firmly. My 35 1.4 is too smooth. This 18 feels better in my opinion. I feel that this is too wide. The better lens might be the 23mm, but that lens is very big and more expensive. If you want a very compact wide angle, this is the best choice.
Excerpt: I use this lens with my X-Pro1. It is lightweight, compact, and very sharp! A great carry around or travel lens. I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this lens to anybody with an X series camera.
Summary: Is this lens perfect no, the aperture is slow for a prime, the Auto Focus motor is a little loud (a little bit louder than the nikon 35mm 1.8G prime) and the minimum focus distance isn't great. With that said this is a people lens, 27mm is 41mm(35 mm equivalent) which is good for taking full body portraits, it has a low profile and is great for catching those candid shots of people in motion.
