Excerpt: Outstanding "kit" lens! f2.8 to start and sharp from corner to corner. Excellent color representation. I've had Nikon and Canon before switching to Sony Mirrorless. I was impressed with Sony until I go my hands on Fuji. In my honest opinion, it is hands down the best!
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I originally planned to just buy a couple primes instead of zoom lenses for my Fuji X-T1. But after reading reviews, it seemed that this lens, which came as a kit for a good price, was the way to go. I'm not disappointed, and fully recommend it. I'll probably buy the 56mm 1.2 prime down the road, but in the meantime this is my go-to lens, particularly for hiking.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: ...but...I kept looking at the 18 to 55 focal length for an all-around lens... the f/2.8 -4 aperture is a little faster than many other-brand kit lenses. This is a solid performer... Feels good to handle.. Images are great. I use this with the x-T1 and keep the setup on auto ISO. There is almost always enough light to get good images.
A great lens but the price is high (as are all Fuji lenses).

Summary: This is my preferred lens. Although I did get the kit lens with the camera, I use this lens instead. I recently took it on a trip to Arizona where it performed flawlessly. I recommend it if you can afford it.
Excerpt: I bought this lens with the X-T1 with a little hesitancy as some people were saying this lens is over rated...well either they do not know what they are talking about or they got a bad copy . This lens delivers the goods . Sometimes I may need a little faster lens in low light situations and the 56 1.2 will do in those situations...but this little zoom stays on my camera ...and it focuses very quickly and it tracks accurately as well. Wonderful lens..
Excerpt: I photograph the things in my life - my dogs, my garden, my friends and the rural countryside where I live. I have owned Nikons since the late 70's, and belonged to camera clubs, and even exhibited my work in shows. I have 3 Nikon DSLR's and many lenses, but they are heavy, and I am not getting any younger, so I bought The Fujifilm XT-1 with the 18-55f/2.8-4. I was seriously blown away by this lens!
