Happy with my purchase!

  • Excerpt: great portrait lens....now my xt1 is taking shots equal to my nikon d7000. I was not as happy with my earlier zoom lens and was regretting purchase of my XT1 until I got this lens . Very nice bouquet...great aperature for shooting flowers creatively. Focus distance is a little far away and lens is a little noisy as it does its autofocus, but I was aware of this before my purchase and am still very happy with this lens. It is expensive though.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction

Great in low light

Phil, B&H Photo
  • Excerpt: I mostly shoot with the 28mm F2 lens, so the 56mm lens seems big and heavy, but I love the low-light capability, the sharpness, and the shallow depth of field. It's solid as a rock.
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

Steve, B&H Photo
5 July 2014
  • Excerpt: This is a fast lens and the resolution is very good. It's a little larger than I expected, but works fine. You can't get much faster than f/1.2. I shot a few quickies just to test it out and I'm glad I bought it.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
  • Cons: Heavy, It's Still Manageable

Best of the Fuji line of lens

REH, B&H Photo
12 June 2014
  • Excerpt: This has been a great lens. I normally use a Canon 85mm 1.2 but the auto focus is a bit slow compared to the Canon so this has been a welcome alternative particularly at the price point.
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

The best portrait lens for Fuji systems

Jayson, B&H Photo
29 May 2014
  • Excerpt: The Fuji XF 56mm f/1.2 was the most anticipated (and longest wait listed item) that I've seen in a while. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it, and boy is it worth the wait. I recently ditched my Canon DSLR system for the smaller, Fuji systems. I mostly shoot portraits and commercial work, so the Fuji systems are perfect for me in terms of size, weight, image quality, and a few other things. The XF 56mm lens is an absolutely stunning lens for portraiture.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
