Has certain advantages.

Summary: Compared to Fuji 18-55mm: Advantages are --smaller, significantly lighter, wider (24mm equiv vs 28mm equiv) and substantially less expensive. Disadvantages are may be less sturdy/durable, i8mage quality very slightly poorer but fclkose enough you might not notice. Compared to non-Fuji (Nikon 18-55 VRII - collapsible with push button). Nearly the same size and weight as the VRII but without the push button hassle.
Superb IQ - excellent contrasts/color - will surprise you to say the least!

Summary: I've been using the Fuji X-E1 with Fuji 18-55 zoom lens (a fantastic lens by itself). But I needed a wider reach and I've been eyeing this 16-50 XC zoom lens for some time now, but I wasn't reach to pay the $399 retail if you purchased it separately (and they're hard to find separately). Then I saw it for a fantastic price on eBay (somebody who separated it from their camera), so I purchased it.
Summary: Excellent review from Mr Baz - There's little to add really, so I will just mention a few personal findings. I bought this lens mainly for the wide angle of 16mm it offered which would fill the gap up to my two prime lenses (27mm f2.8 and 35mm f1.4) as I rarely shoot beyond "standard". It does the job very well and I am finding myself using it much more than I expected.
Excellent optical performance, though best bought in a kit deal

Summary: The Fujinon 16-50mm is bundled with various X mount camera kits but also available to purchase on it's own. Being an XC lens it doesn't feature the aperture ring of XF Fujinon lenses (aperture is controlled via the camera control dials), and the barrel is devoid of an OIS on/off switch.
Summary: I had an X-M1 on trial for a few days and it came with this lens, despite it not being an XF lens I felt the build quality was better than the usual kit lens you get from Sony and the like. It gives a very useful 24-75mm (35mm equivalent) range and as a bonus it has optical stabilisation, Some sample images can be seen here - http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/x/fujinon_lens_xc16_50mmf35_56_ois/sample_images/ Punches above its weight for the price you pay
Summary: I bought this lens along with the X-E1 as part of a Kit. It was after the launch of the X-E2 and was on offer at a very good price. I needed a camera for use on the street. I am very pleased with quality of the results this lens is giving me. All pictures are very sharp and clear, this lens is more cheaply made than the 18-55, but the quality of the images mine is producing is fantastic.
Pros: Great Picture Quality, Lightweight, Simple Controls
