Summary: This is the low end kit zoom from Fuji. It's not nearly as good as the XF 18-55mm, but it's also not bad at all. If you have the higher end Fuji's, get the 18-55mm, but if you got this as part of your kit, don't be alarmed, it's still a decent lens, especially for the low price.
Summary: Compared to Fuji 18-55mm: Advantages are --smaller, significantly lighter, wider (24mm equiv vs 28mm equiv) and substantially less expensive. Disadvantages are may be less sturdy/durable, i8mage quality very slightly poorer but fclkose enough you might not notice.
Summary: Very nice lens, light-weight and a very good match for the XE-1. If you like to look at every pixel, you might want the (pricy and heavy) 18-55, but I appreciate the wider angle (equivalent of 24mm full frame).
Summary: This lens is the cost effective alternative to the Fuji 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 OIS zoom. Not sure it has the same image quality, but if you believe sharpness and image quality is driven more by the photographer than the lens, this may be by far the better deal.
