Excerpt: I used the extender while doing a Symphony Event. Flash was not allowed and must work from the balcony and back of auditorium. I used it with the 7D 111 (that camera in is self helped with the x factor) and 70-200 2.8 canon lens. It did drop the f stop as expected but it did a good job.
Excerpt: I use the Extender EF 1.4X III by Canon for nature photography. I use it with a Canon EF 70-200 L IS II USM. I get clear crisp pictures with this extender. Can't wait to see what it does on a bigger lens.
Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: Having a buch of fixed focal length lenses in your bag is great, but very expensive! This extender does that job for a whole lot less and is as sharp as without it! Good investment for any professional!
Best Buy I made so far for birds and inflight aircraft

Excerpt: I just purchased this product a few weeks ago and I love it. I purchased the Canon EF 1.4X III Extender to use with my Canon EF 100-400mm 1: 4.5-5-5.6 L IS lens, I have photographed birds and helicopters to planes with it attached to my Canon EOS 5D Mark III, also purchased at B&H.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I already owned a 1.4X extender made by Tamron. I can't say that the Canon extender is much better optically than the Tamron, but when used on my 7D Mk II, the exposure system works much better than it does when using the Tamron.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I purchased this when I purchased my 7D MK2 body, since now my EF 100-400mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM becomes an autofocusable equivalent 896mm f/8 lens on the long end. I have only used it a few times, but so far I am impressed. Make sure you have good light.
Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: I purchased this to use with my 400mm F/5.6 and I'm pleased with the results. I do need to use a tripod with the 400mm combination. I discovered that Canon's 135mm lens if a perfect match for this Extender I can get beautiful images handheld.
