Summary: I was very disappointed with the kit lens I got when I bought my camera, so did a little homework before buying this lens. I love it, what an improvement over the kit lens! This STM is the way to go in my opinion.
Excerpt: Bought this lens for travel. I carry 10-22, 17-55 and now this 55-250 mm. I needed more reach for the trip to Panama and Costa Rica. I'm using a Rebel T2i. Weight is an issue for me. I really cannot tell much difference in the sharpness from my 70-200 white lens & it is lighter/smaller. I needed to use a higher ISO to maintain shutter speeds. I'm Happy with it. Good Wildlife Pictures!
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: I bought this lens along with a 70D 18-55 mm kit. The STM lenses focus very quickly and is nearly silent. I can't hear it unless I'm in a relatively quiet room. I've played with the lens/camera for a few weeks now and overall, i'm pretty happy. At full zoom, it starts to get a little fuzzy. As soon as you back off full zoom, it seems to do pretty well. It's a pretty decent mid-quality utilitarian lens.
Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: I am not disappointed with this purchase. This is a quality lens. Not quite an "L" but almost. Great clarity, minimal aberrations, and a silent motor. I also got a great price on Amazon. All in all, very happy with this lens.
