EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6

  • Excerpt: I bought this lens for my Canon 60d. EF-S 18-135mm STM has much longer reach. I do not think I will ever need anything longer than 135mm.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction

Perfect for what I need

Michael Ellis, Amazon

  • Summary: My new Canon Rebel SL1 was a Christmas gift and it came without a len kit. I checked on line for a recommeded upgrade from the starter kit and found the EF-S 18-135mm and it gives me such a great range of photos to take from close up to zoom in on large landscaping photos. Very clear and focused pictures. I'm a newbie with SLR cameras but very happy with this lens.

Great Lens!

  • Summary: I recently took this lens to Six Flags for a family vacation. That was the only lens I needed! Exactly what I bought it for. If you are like me and try to change lenses in the middle of the park, you know how frustrating it it to try and take a shot and realize you do not have enough zoom, or enough wide angle for your shot. Besides, carrying an extra lens for those occasions can become a burden after a while.

My Favorite Canon Lens

Bud, Canon
26 November 2013
  • Conclusion: I have seven Canon lenses and this is my favorite. 18 - 135 covers 95% of my photography. I also have the 18 - 200 but prefer the 18 - 135 for the lighter weight. In situations where 135 is not as much zoom as I'd like, I simply crop the photo to get the area I wanted to zoom in on. With an 18 megapixel T4i I can crop and expand a surprisingly small area and still have amazing quality in the finished photo. I travel a LOT, and this camera and lens go with me everywhere.
  • Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, Super-sharp images

Excellent lens in every respect

  • Excerpt: I wanted an all purpose lens, one I could use for a wide variety of picture taking without having to change lenses. I am retired and do quite a bit of traveling and take a lot of scenic and landscape pictures. There are many times I don't want to take a camera bag with additional lenses and don't want to be frequently changing lenses. This lens fills the bill perfectly for that. It is just about perfect for its intended use.
  • Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Great optical quality
  • Cons: A little bit heavy
