Great Upgrade for a "Pro-sumer" Enthusiast

Andrew Pettigrew, Amazon
  • Summary: I am an amateur enthusiast at best, and this lens is wonderfully versatile. Soon after I bought it, i took it out on a hike during overcast conditions. The lens performed beautifully at 18 through 135mm. I took great pictures of landscapes, still life and portraits with it. Everything I asked it to do, it did without complaint. I got it to replace a pair of fixed length lens (an 18 and a 135), so it was really nice to shoot without having to swap.

  • Excerpt: Friends of mine talk me into getting this lens with the 60D body. I am glad they did. It does everything you would need for normal shooting for close and far objects.

Great all-around lens

Goggla "Goggla", Amazon

  • Summary: I love this lens. It's my 'everyday' lens when I don't want to carry a zoom. I use it with a Canon 70D and can leave it on the camera for street shots, portraits, birds or distant cityscapes. It's lightweight and not burdensome. Images are clear and colors are vibrant. For most of my work, I use an L lens, but this is one I definitely plan to keep in my bag for years to come. It's a must-have for any budget-minded photographer looking for an all-around default lens.

The best lens ever

  • Summary: The best lens ever! I use this as my daily lens. I purchased a 55-250mm and it drives me crazy as it starts at 55mm so I end up standing way back to get basic photos. I recommend this product!

Great Kit Lens

Jesse, B&H Photo
2 January 2015
  • Excerpt: This lens (EF-S 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS) came with my 60D, which I purchased about 3 1/2 years ago. It has been a very good lens, granted, it's not "L" series quality, but for a kit lens, it does very well. I've had many very good photos, the samples, are 2 of my favorites. I used manual settings, ( f/5, 1/1250 sec, ISO-400, 18mm, on a sturdy tripod, on 2 second shutter delay ) was taken at Jenny Lake, Grand Teton National Park, May 22, 2014.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight
  • Cons: Lens Creep, Poor in Low Light
